If UGA's defense is able to properly defend the woefully underthrown pass play, they've got a great chance in this game.

I haven't seen one person say Georgia has no chance. Just that Georgia's defense has been torched a few times this year and got to play the rest of their games against a bunch of shitty SEC East teams. Georgia earned the right to be in the Championship and they absolutely can win the game. Bama's run game is far superior to OU's and they ran on your Defense at will.

That was a brutal lesson in how to play Defense as you found out in the 2011 BCS Championship Game.

True.....but you won't have 6 weeks to get ready for UGA just like you didn't have 6 weeks to get ready for Clemson last year and the year before.

UGA isn't going to need 54 points to beat Bama. With Bama's offense, UGA might only need 14 to win.

Alabama held a better, more balanced offense than Georgia's to 6 last night.

I think this is spot on.

Bill, this isn't 'last year' it is THIS year. Our Defense is healthy again and it is nasty. In fact, it is the #1 Defense in the Nation. Clemson was completely shutdown.

Clemson's offense is in no way, shape or form as good as Georgia's.

Comparing anything from the game OU and UGA just played other than the competitive spirit and will that UGA showed to a game with Alabama is just silly. UGA was forced into an Alabama-Texas A&M 2013 type shootout and they just said "alright" and went out and won it. They played a basketball game, which is not what Georgia is accustomed too, and because comfortable in a spot where they just needed to win enough possessions on defense to hold serve. That's Oklahoma's game and Georgia beat them at it. That's a helluva testament to players and coaches.

What UGA was pressed into doing and what will happen next Monday are going to look like 2 different sports.

Both games played out almost exactly how we (the "look at nerd numbers") community thought they would, didn't they?

Oklahoma-Georgia was wild and crazy and high scoring with lots of yards.

Alabama-Clemson was low scoring, defensive struggle. Alabama's defense was just at another level with health and returning players than stats could have accounted for.

Roquan is going to spy Hurts the entire game.

That'd be fantastic, please let him do that. That means no Roquan involvement on 2/3 of our plays.

He won't do that.

I'm going to go with sabans 11-0 record against former assistants, beating them by an average of 28 points. I just don't see where the advantage less for Georgia. They have a good run game, bama is the best in the country at run defense, and that's despite missing half the linebacking Corp for most of the season, and we are comparatively healthy there now. Georgia has a reasonable qb, but he's not so far not shown himself to be an exceptional passer who can win it for them. That's what you have to have to beat bama (unless bama miraculously misses 5 field goals). Hurts is very comparable to Fromm as a passer, makes fewer mistakes, and is a huge run threat. Fromm is not a run threat, and our dline is going to tee off on him all game.

It was the #1 defense in the nation last year but Clemson scorched them for 511 yards and they were #3 in 2015 when Clemson laid 550 yards and 40 points on them.

Luckily there is no Deshaun Watson on our schedule ever again.

Hurts making plays with his legs makes your entire offense go. He's a bad passer. If you remove take away his clutch scrambles and ability to get out the pocket to extend plays, Bama's offense will completely stall.

Its just really hard to do that.

this is complete hyperbole. He's not a great passer. He's not a bad passer. He's thrown for 17 TDS and only 1 int this season. His running is a big asset to us obviously, and between running and passing he's accounted for almost 3000 yards and 25 tds.

You are leaning heavily on this argument that they 'Ran all over us'. You fail to include these factors:

1) OU's line is better then Bamas and had a entire month of preparation for UGA
2) They have Mayfield which I am sure was the primary focus of our game plan for the past month. When that guy is in the back field you 100% HAVE to respect the pass every down. That leads to getting gashed. We will not have that problem against Bama. Hurts is not anywhere near Mayfield in anyway. We will be playing the run.
3) We looked rusty, shook that shite off and the 2nd half held the nations best offense with a Heisman and multiple All Americans to 10 fricking points. Kirby has been killing it with half time adjustments.
4) We have RS who proved in the second half why he won the all the accolades he did and has been an absolute monster for us. He will be a factor.
5) The game was 2k miles away. This next one will be a home game for us. If anything, this will make us perform even better.
6) Finally, Kirby said it himself...we didn't really play that well either. If we play up to our potential, (like the 2nd half) we would have won much easier)

I'm not saying UGA will shut Bama down completely, but if you go by that OU game and think you will have the same offensive success as they did, you are fricking dreaming.

It will be a good game and come down to defensive turn overs and special teams

No its really not.

He's a winner and a great runner. He has the ability to run out of the pocket and make throws on broken plays to wide open guys.

He'll never be a guy that can consistently hit tough throws while stepping up in the pocket.

Danny Etling is a pretty bad passer and has nearly identical statistics throwing the ball.

I agree with all of this. This is exactly the reason why Bama demolished UGA the last two times they played. Hell, Bama shut Chubb down last season. It’s gonna be a blowout, but UGA still had a great year
