Looks to be a pretty good matchup, overall. They both have great defenses that will be tested by great RB corps. While Bama's run D under Saban is superb, it's been a while since they faced a pair of backs like Chubb/Michel, top-level runners who are both given significant duties (Guice/Fournette doesn't qualify for that second part.) But Bama excels at putting on the pressure up front and they're apparently almost healthy in the backfield now, so Fromm just might cost UGA the win if the running game doesn't get into a rhythm quickly.

Honestly, I think that if you removed the names from all the teams involved to eliminate preexisting biases and opinions, most people would be looking forward to this match-up.

UGA has a great running game, but that's in Bama's wheelhouse.

Fromm can't pass. Tell Nick to put 9 in the box. That worked for AU and OU.

UGA's defense will likely give us problems too.

Their Defense looks all world against Vandy, Florida, Kentucky, Tennesee, etc. They got torched yesterday. Auburn torched them. Missouri was able to put points on them and so was a very pedestrian and mediocre ND team.

Hurts is not Mayfield but OU ran all over Georgia. That should really worry Georgia and what is coming their way on Monday.

Others with more football smarts may have seen it differently, but it seemed like OU's linebackers were never in position yesterday and they got blocked very easily. That's really the key to this title game in my opinion. I think Bama keeps UGA pinned down quite a bit because Bama LBs are going to limit a 3 yard carry to 3 yards, whereas with OU it was routinely going for 50 yards. Past the LOS, did OU tackle UGA's running backs more than 3 times?

They certainly missed a lot of tackles. Nobody runs on Bama effectively when Bama is healthy at LB at least. Is Bama healthy at LB? I can't say yes. Healthier than vs Auburn, but are they healthy to stop UGA's three headed rushing attack? I could be wrong but I am expecting a nail biter. When this happens I look at kickers and I see UGA with a big advantage in kicking.I will say this. I hope you are right.

expect this to be more similar to the SEC championship game between these two teams a few years back and not the blackout massacre.

Sorry but you can't turn back the clock and bring Mark Richt back for this one. We be Kirbying

ain't much difference between Georgia and Alabama. Both want to run ball, stop the run, play D, and win the kicking game.
In other words, it's gonna be a real football game. None of this hully-gully throw it all over the place. Just big boy line knock heads and see who's the tougher team.

Maybe. I expect we need a few Turnovers and some special teams magic to win this, but I’ve seen that kinda thing before so..

it will be a low scoring affair...the two defenses are very similar and it will be hard for both offenses to produce...BUT...I think the Bama offense is less potent than UGA's and I think that will be the deciding factor...UGA wins late by 1 score

I agree about the offenses but the difference will be in the defenses IMO. UGA flys around quite nicely but they have a tendency to be undisciplined. IMO a healthy Bama D is significantly better. I think Bama wins by 10 but it'll feel like more.

Your offense isn't anywhere close to OU's

Auburn got us once in Auburn, but got shut down in Atlanta. Lock who's a better QB then Hurts got us for a quarter and a half. Bama wins this with their defense not their offense

It did work for AU, mostly. Dam busted in the 4th quarte of the SEC championship when the offense couldn't hold onto the ball

These teams that UGA beats are world-beaters until UGA beats them. Then, they are flawed phonies.

Got it.

All I can say is that Bama's defense better shut us down, because that offense is a shite show.

Our running game and run blocking is far superior to OU's. OU ran all over you. You were able to stop a crippled Auburn team. The healthy Auburn team throttled you. Alabama is now a healthy football team. Take this as you will.

You benefited from playing those shitty teams in the East. If we play Defense like we did against Clemson you won't score. Period.

Wow, y'all have arrived. This is exactly the same thing that happens to Bama, and exactly the same retort Bama fans use.

Expect it to be similar to the old Bama vs LSU games.

You're severely underestimating OU's o-line and run game. Not to mention they had Baker there to keep us from stacking the box like they did to us.

Georgia's offense is an upgrade over Clemson's. If you think you can put on that same offensive performance against Georgia you're going to be one pissed off Gump

Agree to disagree.
UGA was able to stop Oklahoma in the 2nd half and in OT.

UGA was limiting Auburn in the 1st half of the DSOR and wore down (out) in the 2nd half. I can admit when we were beat.

We shut down Missouri after the first 20 minutes.

We are a team capable of making adjustments that work. We are a 60 minute team.

That doesn't mean we win. We still have to win the trenches and protect the football.
But I like our punchers chance in the NCG.

Here is something you need to understand:

West was 12-2 vs The East

West had 4 ranked teams. East? 1

You gave up yards and points to every team with a pulse you played. Alabama was not a full strength in November and we lost 1 game. Bama is now at full strength and just held Clemson to 188 yards while your D was torched not only by the pass but also the run. Giving up passing yards to OU isn't a big deal. The concerning thing is the way they were able to run all over you.
