Tulane: 11,000 (1924)
LSU: 12,000 (1924-1930)
Tulane: 35,000 (1926-1936)
LSU: 22,000 (1931-1935)
LSU: 30,000 (1936)
Tulane: 49,000 (1937-1938)
LSU: 46,000 (1937-1952)
Tulane: 69,000 (1939-1946)
Tulane: 80,735 (1947-1955)
LSU: 67,720 (1953-1977)
Tulane: 80,985 (1956-1975)
LSU: 76,092 (1978-1983)
LSU: 78,882 (1984-1987)
LSU ~80,000 (1988-1999)

So, it looks like LSU never really caught up to the Sugar Bowl until after it was demolished.

Sure did. Weekend of Oct 25th.

Something you are familiar with. If confused, see 2008 OM @ LSU. Y'all fled like wildfire.

Well, why bring it up in an argument. Hell, if you didn't watch it, even the score wasn't close. :stillconfused:

Well, let's see: LSU had 10 first half points against ULM; Your QB threw for 139 yards with 0 TDs and an INT the entire game. Your RBs ran for 219, but 68 of that came on three runs, without which you'd have averaged only 3.1 yards per carry on the remaining 49 carries. Your offense looked like the Rockettes (one, two, three, kick, one, two, three, kick...) against Lousiana freakin' Monroe!
Oh, KY is definitely gonna be in high demand Saturday. States defense is gonna go in deep on the Rockettes.

Ha! Look at this shite. LSU is getting grinded from all angles this week.

Losing to both State and OM is gonna rustle up some corndogs.

Why were so many games hosted by LSU?

Tiger Stadium was huge, compared to the small stadiums many other southern teams had.

That's why a lot of games were played at Tiger Stadium and Tulane Stadium back in the day. Teams with those smaller stadiums would travel and split the gate and make much more money than they would have if they hosted the game.

I'll say this. I have no Idea why State played at USA. The school actually lost money traveling there. You're suppose to be above playing non Power 5 conference teams at their place. You're in the SEC for fricks sake.

Weird that Tulane was in stadium size competition with LSU back then(meaning, they put a ton of money into football) and bailed on the SEC later.

They used their Sugar bowl money they got each year from the teams using their stadium and facilities.
