LSU won because of 4 turnovers, not because they dominated Manziel. That still counts as a win and you deserved it, props to you. It's just amazing how the story on Manziel keeps evolving.

For instance, what was the great scheme that LSU implemented that forced Manziel's pass right into the chest of Mike Evans to bounce up in the air on a drive in the 3rd quarter (that would be in the 2nd half) where A&M was moving the ball at will? It is true Manziel did not have a TD pass as well, however he did have one called back because of a stupid penalty that had nothing to do with preventing the TD. If Manziel was stopped so thoroughly in the 2nd half, then why did A&M have only 1 3 and Out in the 2nd Half?

LSU won and deserved to win. Manziel also made some mistakes with turnovers and decision making that made the difference in the game as well. It's just simply false to say that LSU stopped Manziel outside of his ability to run the football (not counting A&M's RB's of course). Sam Montgomery certainly seems to have a different thought on Manziel than some of you folks:

A&M had more yards than LSU in each half A&M scored a TD and 2 FGs in the 1st half A&M scored a TD and missed 2 FGs in the 2nd half A&M had 2 turnovers in each half

I fully expected A&M to have more yards than LSU. Again yards do not tell the whole story, but hold on to that victory. LSU played Les Miles football.

And Jesus Christ y'all are worse than bama with the FGs. One of his attempts were from 50+. That's far from "points on the board".

I feel more comfortable with Bertolet trying a 50 yd FG than a 30 yd FG.

Dude. Stop arguing with these trolls. We lost. They won. Yeah, we had the opportunity to win, but we didn't. If they want to call a 5-point win "domination" then I guess we have different views. Johnny was not nearly as effective as he has been. I guess that's the point of this thread. I don't give a frick one way or another.

On to Auburn.

LSU didn't kill JFF. He needed this, he's been too reckless with the ball the past few games and LSU has hopefully slapped some sense into him to make better decisions with it. It was a one score game though, so we were in it and had our chances to win. Our kicker needs to get his head right and not miss anymore, he's killing us.

Jesus man. Manziel is a good player. The key to stopping a good player is to limit his big plays. That's what LSU did. They made him one dimensional and he couldn't beat them. Simple as that.

The kid is a freshman, for crying out loud. Heck, a freshman QB almost led a new SEC team to a victory over mighty LSU. If I were a Bama fan, or LSU fan, I would be worried for the next couple of years. This guy is going to be a great one.
No ones scared of him. If I were A&M I would be worried about what happened to Johnny Boy after Matthews and Joeckel are in the league next year.

That was a good interview.

I don't think anyone thinks JFF sucks or lacks talent, that would just be foolish.

I think people were sick of the hype and glad to see him beaten back down to "promising freshman QB" and not "Superstar Heisman Trophy Candidate".

Sam Montgomery said it was like playing tag with a cat. He had a lot of good things to say about Johnny Football. No dissing from the LSU Defense.

I'll just leave these quotes here:

quote:

Hes about to be the SEC player of the week....again....for the 3rd time. And lets not forget hes already been freshman of the SEC twice as well.

quote:

I just don't see lsu being able to slow down JFF. Nor, do I see lsu hanging more than 3 touchdowns on us. I do think however that JFF will make a mistake that costs us, a safety. Ags win, 52 - 22 (2 td, 2 fg, and a safety)

quote:

Johnny is better than Tannehill. No Peterson. No Claiborne. No Honey Badger(did he play that year?). This years LSU defense is the suck.

quote:

Johnny Manziel might be the SEC's best: Forget Johnny Football being the league's best freshman, he might be the SEC's best overall player. Through six games, the youngster has passed for 1,680 yards and 14 touchdowns and is completing 67 percent of his passes. He's also only thrown three interceptions. But where he's even more dangerous is in the ground game. Manziel leads the SEC with 676 rushing yards and has 10 touchdowns. He's lightening quick and can outrun just about anyone out there.

quote:

This game is cyclical, and you guys have been riding high for a while now - get ready for a beat down, not only this year, but for the foreseable next few years.

quote:

Say hello to Johnny. THE SEC PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOR THE 3RD WEEK OF THE SEASON!!!

quote:

All that wait we can do is watch JFF and the air raid earn respect every Saturday. It is happening right before our eyes. lsu is about to realize what Aggie football is about.

quote:

After Saturday, JFF is going to be tebow-like. Not in ability, he already has better mechanics and speed, more elusive. But the media is going to start a 4 year schlong worshiping that will drive the rant crazy.

quote:

You STILL won't concede that we have an awesome qb. And you never will.
He is quicker than you realize. Florida's defensive line couldn't contain him if they gave up a single gap. He would be gone.

quote:

Beating LSU won't prove anything. They are nothing special.

quote:

LSU is VERY good at Tiger Stadium, and they only have 4 away games this year - 4.

Luckily, we are one of them.

The other 2 played thus far;
LSU barely beat Aubrun by 2 points, and struggled against the mighty Towson, whoever they are.

Kyle Field will be their kryptonite.

A&M 37 - LSU 21

quote:

TAMU put 17 on UF. LSU put 6. TAMU wins 28-16. Epic meltdown ensues.

In an unrelated event, I'd like to watch the last play again.

While it was exciting to watch, and at times it seemed that there may have been a chance at greatness,:

How many yards did the Ags gain (or lose) once all of the laterals started? If I remember corectly, it went East/West a good two times, but I don't remember if there was any appreciable yardage gained.

I for one was screaming my head off hoping for some type of Music City Miracle mojo, but none appeared.
