he's saying the fans created the market you dumbass. without a market for the signed crap nobody is ever going to ask him to sign crap for money in the first place. it really wasnt that hard to figure out.

It has been addressed, and yes. supposedly.

This is the part that I think drags out. Perhaps the NCAA will want to look into this further and they are so slow about this type of thing it's pathetic.

What backlash?

The backlash is now what basically amounts to an internet manhunt for the scumbag autograph dealer somewhere in Georgia who sold out Todd Gurley. The intention of said manhunt being to ruin this piece of shite's livelihood.

That's the backlash.

You will be waiting a very long time.

It was a general observation, not directed specifically to you.

I don't get wanting to own shite with a signature on. I don't understand the market.

While continuing to praise, love honor and bare TG's children if possible?

No blame at all for TG. No backlash toward him?

jk, but you ARE creating this market. You ARE tempting these players to earn some spending money. Not saying it is right or wrong, but it is a fact.

Me either. It's weird to me. Kids standing in line for signatures is one thing but grown men, I don't get it.

Are you kidding? His Heisman campaign is ruined. His reputation and legacy are forever tarnished in the eyes of the college football world.

I just don't place any blame on him personally. He was trying to profit off his own name to support his family. I can't blame him for taking the money. I don't see what he did as unethical in the least.

Probably not

Most fans will have a Stephen Decatur attitude -

“Our Country! In her intercourse with foreign nations may she always be in the right; but right or wrong, our country!”

He broke NCAA rules. I don't see how you can't blame him. I get the supporting your family stuff. I don't think amateur athletes should be able to profit though. Give them a larger stipend. Give it to all sports though or it'll never pass.

I have absolutely no respect for NCAA rules. I tend to cheer for people that defy them.

Gotcha.

Would you be saying the same thing if it were an Auburn or UF player though?

every school in america has fans you dumbass. I don't know a single team with an athetic program that doens't have one fan. We also have the best player in the country.

I guarantee you auburn fans would buy autographed cam gear in 2010 if it were available.

who said no blame at all?

I place some blame on him, he knew the rules and broke them. I place more blame on the lowlife who waited 7 months to come out with this because his feelings were hurt and now has ruined our season.

I wouldn't be cheering for them in games, but I wouldn't want the NCAA to be their undoing.

You're missing the point. You said the uga fans buying the stuff have nothing to do with this because there are several "steps" between obtaining the autograph and selling it. He was just pointing out its the market that drives getting the autograph in first place. Its not unique to uga, but it is specific to uga in this context.

right, but that's common sense. Certain fans of any/every school would pay to have an autograph from the team's best player.
