According to a source familiar with details of the case, Davis is accused of visiting multiple out-of-state recruits during a period when coaches aren't allowed any contact with recruits.
The recruits in question did not end up signing with Alabama, according to the source.
The NCAA contacted Alabama's compliance office regarding the situation, and Davis was questioned and caught being dishonest before eventually resigning, according to the source.

I am sure a secretary was fired too.

You let secretaries approve expense reports?

If the recruits had signed, Davis would still have a job.

I have no idea who approves them. But I am sure he's not the only one who lost a job in this mess.

Good to know the details now. Bama is good, identical situation to joker phillips, result will be the same, coach fired and no penalties. Back to ole miss

You trolls will see it how you want. Just like the Ole Miss situation, you'll be sorely disappointed. You wanted details. You have them now.

I am going to be disappointed about what? I am disappointed Coach Davis was termed, he is a former LSU player. Hate to see this happen to him. So, what is it I will be disappointed about?

quote:Agreed, that's why he got canned. Saban demands his guys follow the letter of the law, he failed to do so.

You're going to tell me that Saban isn't aware when his coaches are out of the area?
Posted on 5/1/16 at 12:06 pm to CapstoneGrad06
I have heard that this is connected to the ole miss investigation and Ole Miss allegedly out-bid him for the recruit in question. Saban got wind of it and canned the guy before the news breaks. He's hoping that will satisfy the ncaa and make Davis look like a rogue.

Yeah, Saban makes 'em all wear ankle monitors.
Jeez.
