1992-1996. I was there for Pat Dye's last year (although it wasnt his best.) And, from 1993-1994, we were 20-1-1. That was a nice run.

2008 - losses to Arkansas State and Baylor. Enough said.

2009 - 6-6. Destroyed by Georgia in the independence bowl.

2010 - Miracle wins over Oklahoma and Nebraska. Killed by LSU.

2011 - came close to hanging myself off the Kyle Field grandstands. But hey, we beat Northwestern.

I said with the exception of Arnsparger's few years. We had Stovall before him, it was painful. If you weren't born yet don't question it.

2008--9-4 record. Better than expected made and won Cotton Bowl, beat LSU, and Florida.

2009--9-4. Did not live up to expectations in a lot of ways, although had I known then what was coming the next two seasons I would have been much more happy with the season. I remember complaining about looking bad in games we won, which seems funny now given how 2010-20111 went. Beat LSU, and lost to State. Won Cotton Bowl for second season in a row. I was not prepared for what was to come.

2010--4-8. Making trip to Knoxville to watch us get beat 52-14 was a rock bottom moment.

2011--2-10.

2012--7-6

1980-84

1980 Jerry Stovall's first year after new coach Bo Rein was killed in plane crash. 7-4 record,
turned down minor bowl for whatever reason.

1981 Miserable. Only LSU's 2nd losing season since the 50's.

1982 Scintillating. Stovall rebounds to go 8-2-1 and play #3 Nebraska in the Orange Bowl, losing valiantly 21-20. Stovall wins AP Coach of Year.
The breakout years of Dalton Hilliard and Garry James, and Eric Martin.
Tigers annaihilate 5th ranked Fla.State 55-21 in Death Valley to get Orange bid.
Stovall beats the Bear in Birmingham 20-10, holding the Tide to 0 first downs and 5 yards total offense in 1st half. 7 points from an unbeaten season.

1983 Stovall's downfall. 4-7 record gets previous year's COTY fired by new AD Bob Brodhead.

Also. 1980-81 Men's Basketball Final Four

1983. National Champion Full Contact Chess.

We didn't have football.

We were neck and neck with the Naval Academy for the highest number of intercollegiate sports teams, though. We had exceptionally good pistol and fencing teams and crew teams good enough to get invited to big-time invitationals.

They have a team now. Here's this year's schedule:
Sep 7 at Pomona-Pitzer 4:00 PM
Sep 14 at Becker College 1:00 PM
Sep 28 at Salve Regina University * 1:00 PM
Oct 5 Curry College * 1:00 PM
Oct 18 Nichols College * 7:00 PM
Oct 26 at Western New England University * 1:00 PM
Nov 2 Endicott College * 5:00 PM
Nov 9 Maine Maritime * 1:00 PM
Nov 16 at U.S. Coast Guard Academy * 1:00 PM

I don't think anybody is selling autographs. Or driving free cars. I suspect the coaches aren't pulling $5 mill a year, either.

There was not enough bourbon to erase the misery of 2001-2004.

These were the wins, only 2 each season:
Richmond
Duke
Furman
UCONN
UT-Chattanooga
Kentucky
Mississippi State
Eastern Kentucky

5 years of undergrad:

2003: NC
2004: disappointing
2005: Great team especially considering the Katrina hangover, destroyed the Miami football program
2006: possibly the best LSU team i've seen
2007: NC

To add to the above. The only time you heard cheering in the stands was when we had a transistor radio(kids won't understand) with us and we were listening to John Furgeson call games.

2007-2010 at Auburn. Went 2-2 against Bama, saw the streak increase to 6, was in Tuscaloosa the next year to see it end, stood in the rain for WVU, and had my senior year include a crazy national championship season. All in all, wouldn't trade it for a thing.
