absolutely. The media's job is to interview the coaches. Do you think Joe Fisher called Derek Mason and said well, sorry coach I can't do it this week?

You're making a huge leap here. There could have been any number of reasons as to why the show wasn't available last Sunday. Logistics with a road game in Missouri the day before? Who knows? If Mason "refused" to do the show, don't you think there would be a blurb about it somewhere (insert Vandy irrelevant joke here)?

The Fox 17 website has the coach's show coming up on the schedule each of the next 2 Sundays.

I've been investigating all morning. They didn't do the coaching show. If they lose to Ole Dominion, they will cancel it again.

I called Fox 17 and they have no answer to why the coaching show didn't air. I wouldn't bet on it being in a few weeks either.

They went to Georgia & Kentucky while playing Ole Miss at the Titans stadium and still did the Coaches show. You tell me why they didn't do it this week?

So after all your investigation, you basically have no answers. Cool.

Tell me why you would retain Mason after THIS year? We've been as competitive as ever under Franklin, Won a baseball College World Series and now look what is happening?

Because if you fire him after a single year, it scares away other coaches who might want the job. No one wants to go into a situation where the deck is stacked against them, the roster is woeful, and the school fired the last guy who tried in a year. Doesn't matter that Mason rightfully deserves to be fired but how other coaching prospects are going to see it. You don't want coaches looking at your school and thinking giant issues, difficult conference and odds and a fanbase/AD who only gave the last guy a year.

Derek Mason refused to do the show. What other conclusion would you come up with?

So you're breaking the story then, 4 days after the fact and ahead of this massive Nashville media. Run with it. Good job.

I'm shocked there was a point in time where people called in to a Vanderbilt coaches show.

So you believe he refused to do the coaches show? Do you even watch the coaches show ever week?

Sunday though, he cut off the coaches show. Because of Vanderbilt's losing record he has made the decision to not let Vanderbilt media and fans access the show
That is like 9 reporters and 6 fans.

No. We would have heard about it by now if that were the case.

You're hearing about it now. Also have you watched the coaches show every week? If so you would know this already.

You're breaking the story. Mason has refused to do his TV show and not a peep from the enraged Nashville media that is now denied this avenue of access to him. Run with it. The scoop is yours and yours alone.

Actually, it shows that the coach is giving up. It was only a matter of time. He'll be out after this year.

Isn't there some kind of Vandy independent fan site/blog that would have mentioned this in some capacity? I know it's Vandy but I find it hard to believe no one mentioned it.

I think this is a big deal. Blood is in the water for Derek Mason. Just thought the Rant should know. He's not fulfilling his requirements as Vanderbilt's head coach.

He'll walk away one rich mofo "if" Vandy kicks him to the curb.
