he is averaging well over 6 ypc in his career.
his YPC has gone down every season. That 6.2 YPC is due to his freshman year when he had 36 carries for 382 yards. He averaged 5.8 last year and is at 5.5 this year. Those are, by no means, bad numbers for a RB, but they're not elite numbers either.

I retracted my statement and said I believe LSU has 2 RBs that are better than Henry.

Hold on now, Mr. Potato head disagrees.

Chubb or Fournette don't get tackled in the backfield or at the line on half of their carries. Henry has horrible acceleration and change of direction. He has bad feet in general. TJ Yeldon has amazing feet and would have Bama undefeated right now. He rarely got hit in the backfield or at the line even though his last two years the O-line got very little push and allowed a lot of penetration. Saban for some reason feels loyal to Henry because he waited his turn and didn't transfer, but Scarborough and Drake should split those carries.

Um... No. As an LSU fan, I recognize Guice is an exciting player. I don't think you can call him an every down back
After watching him Sat get 16 carries what would make you think that. He could absolutely be an every down back but he won't need to be at LSU. Dudes a monster. For a freshman I have never seen a RB at LSU refuse to go down as much as him. He will be very special

henry has 2 issues. 1. he is not a quick twitch player / he has really slow acceleration. secondly for as big as he is, he's not a very phytical runner. he doesn't' run violently. there were a few plays saturday where or 180 pound cornerbacks tackled him in the backfield.
with that said, he has good acceleration and i think he would work wonders for a team that runs out of the I formation full time. he's an old school I back playing in a spread

Number 1 is true. Number 2 is not. Ask Wiscy safety.

You mean when a player gets more carries, his ypc goes down?! Holy shite!

I'm sure some people will take that as hating on him, but I'm a huge fan of his. It's just he's seriously overrated.
He's no LF7. He would be great behind the 2012 line, but most good backs would.

Yeldon got hit behind the line A LOT in '13 and '14 because of the Oline. Same thing with Henry.
Henry doesn't have the body of a RB. That works against him. However, you can't argue with his production behind subpar Olines.
The funny thing is that Alabama fans bitched about Yeldon his last two years at Alabama.

Scarbrough is coming off a knee injury from the spring and nobody has any idea how healthy he is. Drake has not been very successful running between the tackles this year. Plus, Drake doesn't have the build to be an every down back.
If Henry was sitting on the bench, every fan and observer would say Saban/Kiffin is retarded for not playing him.

Chavis will earn his money this week. Henry goes for 120.

LF had -17 yards on plays in Syracuse game. Half of anyone's carries is just a slight exaggeration.

I would add Kamara and Kelvin Taylor to that list
