Once again this year will prove why defense wins championships. Michigan State/ Alabama winner is the champion. I give Alabama the nod just cause they have just enough offense to score with a great defense. I expect a game in the 16-13 area and a blowout win the ship

Right now, I tend to agree except, Bama scores a late TD to put it away and win something like 23-13.

Clemson and Oklahoma both have fairly salty defenses. They just have a high powered offense to go along with it.

Neither Bama or MSU blows out either of Clemson or Oklahoma.

MSU is 47th in total defense and Clemson ranks above in every single defensive stat. Statistically, Clemson and Bama are pretty even on defense.

Not always, or your would not have had Auburn vs. Oregon in 2010. I think on the whole, you are correct, but not always.

Not sure why there's such a difference. Where did you get your stat?
*ah I see. One sorts by YPG and the other does total. Regardless, Clemson still ranked much higher

But Clemson's SOS is much worse. It's easy to defend their schedule.

We've defeated a third of the top 10...
Also, we've faced far superior QBs. We have a better SOR, too. I'm about 90% sure this metric is complete bullshite, though.

Defense wins championship unless your offense is lead by Treon Harris, you don't have a FG kicker and your OL sucks.

I don't see Bama blowing them out, but they would win. Oklahoma, on the other hand, would give Bama fits IMO.

You can nitpick our schedule, who we gave how many points to, that's fine. Our defense can play down to our competition. Our defense has also been banged up as the season progressed. But why don't you look how we performed against better competition? ND? FSU? I also challenge you to find a single bad defensive stat for Clemson. Or is it easier to be ignorant and assume UNC is a bad team?
