In such a situation a 4 team playoff looks absurd. Any team that plays 8 SEC games and 4 from the other P5 and still has 24 players standing should just be named Champ and get a trophy.

Thoughts?

There are quality FCS teams just like there's shitty Power 5 teams. I'd take Sam Houston State over Kansas. And that's the kind of swap you'd see where it's only quality in name.

And a lot of times these FCS teams scheduled have ties to the administration or coaching staff anyway. Or instate ties. They also make a lot of money off of those games. If a Power 5 program wants to help those schools out while scheduling those games then so be it.

I do love the two-faced discussion by some coaches of protecting the players from concussion but now wanting to schedule games that typically give those starters rest.

Anyone think this will come to an end in the SEC soon?

They'll probably get forced into it with the "But the SEC OOC isn't just strong enough" discussion.

We'll just go back to 11 games

Why would you do that? Its a huge source of revenue for the school and town.

These games fund entire athletic programs

Not the job of bigger schools to fund smaller schools. Its a moot point anyway. These games are going away for SEC schools.

The argument that FCS/FBS games fund FCS programs and should be encouraged is BS. It's Welfare just like Food Stamps and Section 8 Housing except there is no administration to ensure fairness and equality for all FCS teams. It's a rent-a-win and that's all. It dilutes the pool of GREAT GAMES that would have been. FBS should only play FBS.

The Service Academies are really FCS quality teams. They don't recruit traditional college football players. They must be appointed based on academic performance and character - athletic prowess comes last in the process.

The dude looks cray cray, why do we give a crap what he thinks. His team is known across the US as serial couch burners.

I think he is just unhappy to be stuck in the B12 and knows the SEC invite will never come.

Except teams aren't going to schedule Alabama or Florida State instead of the FCS game, they're going to schedule a sun belt or C-USA opponent. Teams aren't going to play every single game against P5 teams.

Makes no difference to me really.

I don't think it should be allowed.
Quite honestly I feel like teams outside of the P5 really shouldn't be considered in the same division as well. Why not just replace FCS teams with them?

He is just hoping it will help him get games against decent conferences.
