State had the perfect storm this year. No dominant team in the division and a ridiculous amount of experienced juniors and seniors starting. They will be back to a 7-8 win team next year.

Freeze is still living off that one great recruiting class. He has one more year to bring in some talent to replace them, but I don't see it happening. They will be good, but not great.

LSU will be the Tennessee of the West.

Battling each season to become bowl eligible. Recycling through coaches to try and find that former success.

Freeze will always recruit at a high level. He's probably rather recruit than coach. Our '16 class will rival the '13 class, especially with the momentum we keep getting on the field.

Mullen is a 7-8 wins/year will a run like '14 every 5 or 6 years

Define high. Freeze's best class (2013) was 4th (Rivals), 3rd (ESPN), & 6th (scout) in the SEC.

SEC class rankings according to rivals, ESPN, & Scout

10th - 8th - 10th in 2014
10th - 9th - 6th in 2015

Granted, like LSU, OM's 2015 class isn't close to finished.

My gut says no way, but then again coming from a MSU fan, you have lived out that scenario so you probably know more about it. Minus the whole former success part.

Well, Freeze hasn't actually been offered by anyone, and I suspect Mullen will be talked about when the Michigan job opens up here shortly. He will remain at State.

We fricked up in the Eggbowl. If you think it was our best effort then you need to look at both of our schedules and reassess. We giftwrapped yall a td, played with ourselves and failed to score at the end. It should have been a tied ballgame at the end of regulation.

If we would have won, what would have been your opinion of Freeze?? Would he be worth a new contract?

I'm not concerned. If he stays then great.

If we lose him then the program is in good shape with better facilities and a lot of talent. We can find another good coach

Ole Miss fans so badly want to see Mullen gone.

In before Freeze is 2-1 against Mullen.

That doesn't matter. Ole Miss fans don't want the competition at all. They want Mullen gone and State to make a bad hire and go back to having 3-9 teams. It is hilarious.

It can only qualify as being scared.

Yeah and I'm sure LSU fans want Nick Saban to stay at Alabama for the next 20 years, right?

If not, it can only qualify as LSU fans being scared of Alabama.

Eh.

Mississippi State coaches with a winning record since joining tSEC in 1938
2009 - present - Dan Mullen, 46-30
1954 - 1955 - Darrell K. Royal, 12-8
1952 - 1953 - Murray Warmath, 10-6-3
1939 - 1948 - Allyn McKeen, 65-19-3

Yeah, good luck with finding another good coach.

We are so pissed at him for taking Saturday night off that I doubt any of us cares if he leaves.

But he did...

My opinion of him is shaped by actual events that exist in reality, not hypothetical scenarios.

I would think they have an easier road next year. LSU, Alabama and Ole Miss at home?

This is true, but state is replacing an awful lot of experienced, and talented, upperclassmen. They will struggle next year IMO.

As long as you don't pull Georgia out of the East, you're fine.*

*Depending on the Florida hire.

We need an in depth study on how this year's Egg Bowl chapped Ole Miss fans asses more than State's. It has been brilliant to witness.

On topic, doubt he leaves. If he does, he has developed enough talent throughout the roster to hold us over for a few years, along with the schools leading passer/scorer/everything else offensively returning, so the next coach has a great situation to step into.

Only on the O-Line, where we will replace with guys who are 2-4 years in the system already. It always hurts to lose experience, but it helps when you are replacing it with superior talent, which is what will happen. If the guys who are projected to start win the spots, we are going to gain about 20 pounds per position of the 3 OL we replace.

I can't wait to play Missouri. And again, it's hilarious every time state or the Rebs wins the egg bowl and all of a sudden it means the winner will start to dominate. Almost the surest bet in football is the home team in the egg bowl.
