Yes, a nice bowl game is on the horizon for the Bulldogs, and that's great, but you know Bulldogs fans are probably a little more concerned with the next move by Dan Mullen.

quote:

Big schools would be crazy not to go after Mullen, who is in his sixth year at Mississippi State, and Mullen would be doing himself an injustice if he didn't at least listen.

quote:

Though Mullen has built something that certainly has the potential to last under his watchful eye, he will likely have a big decision to make in the coming weeks, and no one should fault him for weighing his potential offers.

quote:

Mullen will be a hot coaching commodity, and he has to think about how long he can sustain what he did in 2014.

quote:

It's not like talent will just wash out of Starkville (Mississippi State's 2015 recruiting class ranks 10th nationally), but if this team, which might have been the most talented and most complete in school history, couldn't make it to Atlanta or slip into a playoff spot, next season's team will have an even tougher road ahead.

Dan Mullen should have coaching options (ESPN)

Are State fans concerned that when offers start flying Mullen's way (and they will), that he is going to take off?

Also, what do you think the national perception would be of Hugh Freeze recommitting to Ole Miss, and MSU's coach departing shortly thereafter (if he actually left, of course)?

I think Mullen is a great coach.

His antics are juvenile and his demeanor can be petulant and his gameday coaching decisions can be lacking and his ability to make chicken salad out of chicken shite is unparalleled and you know, he's actually not that great of a coach.

Nevermind.

Ole Miss fans so badly want to see Mullen gone.

In before Freeze is 2-1 against Mullen.

That doesn't matter. Ole Miss fans don't want the competition at all. They want Mullen gone and State to make a bad hire and go back to having 3-9 teams. It is hilarious.

It can only qualify as being scared.

That's a moral victory statement if I have ever heard one, and I've taken home lots of meh women from the bars so I know what they sound like.

Umm, no.

He's a prick but Freezus is gonna dominate him on the reg. I for one want him there as long as possible.

No. I like it when both teams are good.

How is this true, Ole Miss just beat MSU's best team ever.

You're an idiot

He should but yet he doesn't. Hell, UF even announced he wasn't a candidate before he could turn them down. I don't think he will have the opportunity to go anywhere, which is kind of strange.

Honest question here - who thinks Ole Miss and MSU have staying power, and who thinks they are at a bit of a peak and will return to mediocrity in the next couple seasons?

I know the knee jerk reaction will be making a hilarious joke about UGA and mediocrity or something about the SEC East, but seriously - they have feigned turning the corner before. Is something different this time?

State had the perfect storm this year. No dominant team in the division and a ridiculous amount of experienced juniors and seniors starting. They will be back to a 7-8 win team next year.

Freeze is still living off that one great recruiting class. He has one more year to bring in some talent to replace them, but I don't see it happening. They will be good, but not great.

I think that embarassing fricking press conference, among other things, is going to make sure he stays in Starkville. I wouldn't want a guy who pouts like a spoiled 6 year old after a loss representing my school.
