People who generally only talk when they have legitimate information on a few Alabama message boards are talking about this as a legitimate thing as well as a lot of Indiana people. Could be total BS, but Crean's media performance last night really gave the look of a farewell performance. I assume they could go on a Sweet 16 run and everything changes, but if they get bounced on day 1 this could be interesting.

Addendum 1 : This would be a mutual agreement to leave aka a firing. Nobody is saying Crean would leave IU willingly for the Alabama job. I thought that was understood.

Thoughts?

He'd be dumb to leave at this point. He has retirement-buy-an-island money left as a buyout. It would still be a couple million next year.

I don't think the timing is right for him to leave.

No one cares about Alabama basketball. Including Alabamanians. Take this to the Bama board.

He's not leaving, and they aren't going to fire him this year. So no.

Well, yea, duh

This would be a Tubby Smith to Minnesota, Bill Curry to Kentucky type move. Mutual agreement non-firing firing. I don't think anyone is arguing he is leaving IU for Alabama because he likes the Alabama job more. They are ready for him to go and ready to go get Brad Stevens or Gregg Marshall.

Don't want him, I'll be done with Bama bball. He'll be Corch Gotfired redux.

I just pray that IU fans are delusional enough to think Brad Stevens will be there when they finally get rid of Crean.

Gimme Archie Miller.

There are multiple multi-page threads on the first page discussing Bama basketball.

Not sure why that is funny. We all know the folks who aren't posting junk to get e-glory and the ones who are.

I would hire Tony Bennett. But they arent patient enough to do that.

Archie is at the point where he can wait for the perfect job. I would hire Michael White if I were Bama.

Just please, please dont claim yall can hire Shaka. Shaka is not leaving

Love Bennett. His brand of bball is anti-bball (for you soccer fans) but it wins. Bama historically has never been known for its offense, anyway.

I meant for IU.

Virginia basketball is a better job than Bama right now. Because he has made it one.

I think Shaka and Marshall are beyond our reach. I don' know what Archie's thought process is. I think that is possible but not probable.

The most likely candidates are in the young coach category : Prohm, White, Miller and in the old re-tread coach category : Crean, Howland.

I like White and Miller, I would be fine with Crean, I would be hesitant with Howland and lord no keep Prohm away.

I think in the minds of basketball people it always has been, at least the last 30 years. But yea, he took it to another level.
