As for the restaurants, With Opelika being literally an extension of Auburn I disagree.

Opelika's super shopping center "Tiger Town" beats anything Tuscaloosa has and it alone has Starbucks, Jersey Mikes, Moes, Sonic, Brick Overn Pizza, Jim Bob's, Buffalo Wild Wings, LongHorn, Outback, O'Charlies, Logan's, Zaxby's, Olive Garden, Chick Fila, McDonalds, Arby's, and it is still expanding every year.

Then you've NEVER been to Tuscaloosa, obviously.

Midtown Village blows Tiger Town out of the water. It's practically it's own little community and offers more stores, pubs, restaurants, etc. than Tiger Town. It even has its own condos. Hell, both indoor malls in Tuscaloosa are superior to Tiger Town. Plus, did you really call Tiger Town a "Super Shopping Center"? You need to get out more often. Even Columbus Park Crossing's Strip Mall pales in comparison to Midtown Village in Tuscaloosa, yet it's far superior to Tiger Town. Tuscaloosa has several strip malls that Tiger Town CAN compete with, but there's no comparison between MV and TT.

I love how Auburn/Opelika citizens think they finally became relevant because they now have a MINI strip mall.

I live over in Columbus, and I've spent plenty of time in Opelika, Phenix City and Columbus. Everyone over here laughs at you guys and your sad attempts to become relevant, or at least compete with Columbus. The only people who hype the Opelika/Auburn area up are the people who worship the school. To everyone else, it sucks arse.

What's more fun about Tuscaloosa? They provide basically the same activities aside from Tuscaloosa having the population advantage from all of the ghettoes.

Because there are far more bars; more restaurants; an IMAX theater; amphitheater (and nothing like the one on Auburn's campus); skate-parks; more parks and museums; more strip malls/malls; more golf and mini-golf courses; more than just one college in the city limits; more women ; the downtown/strip scene is better than anything Auburn has to offer; and you're right down the road from a friggin' theme park; etc. I should also note with all the renovations and construction going on across the city, it's running circles around Auburn and Troy right now. And have you seen all the trailer parks and ghettofied areas in Auburn (you're sickly delusional if you think Auburn doesn't have as many trashy areas as Tuscaloosa)? I mean, geez, using your logic, what makes New York better than Birmingham?

We're not just talking about Tuscaloosa, though. Huntsville, Mobile, Dothan, Hoover AND Tuscaloosa all blow Auburn out of the water by a long shot. You can argue Auburn being the best school and that's a legitimate argument. But there is no argument to be made as to whether Auburn is the better city or not, because it's not even close. I understand you love the school, but you shouldn't allow your love for the school to cloud the fact that the town sucks cat nuts.

Comparing a smaller college town to cities like Huntsville and Mobile is silly IMO. Apples and oranges in many respects. Most people in Auburn like the fact it is a quant college town.

But please, feel free to never come back to Auburn if you think it is subpar. We won't miss you.

Apparently Auburn has much nicer trailer parks.

"IT'S EASY to get lost in Conway Acres, a trailer park on the outskirts of Auburn filled with identical, connecting cul-de-sacs. The manufactured homes are stacked like dominoes, with similarly trellised porches, fresh cut lawns and pickups parked outside."
