Saban could win but his roster would have to be full of Louisiana and Texas kids, no talent in the Natural State. Hey and it could happen, for realzzzz!

I think given about 3 years he could. Motorcycle Petrino got 10 wins in the regular season, so I think if he had time to bring in his players, it's a possibility.

My question is tho is he good enough to win a title at a school like Arkansas?

He couldn't win one at Michigan State. Arkansas is pretty much Michigan State. So I say, no.

Hell, he was only able to finish 1 season out of 5 even ranked in the top 25 at MSU.

And he had a losing record in the pros.

Again, it is doubtful. A coach like Petrino probably has a better chance due to greater coaching abilities.

Not trolling and not gonna waste much more time on it.

The guys that can outcoach others on gameday are generally the creative guys and especially the brilliant offensive guys that outscheme the opponent and make up for a lesser talent.

That is what Petrino did.

That is not what Saban does. Saban has supperior athletes and he grinds opponents into the ground with power football and a physical imposing defense.

He is not taking a team with lesser talent and beating a team with greater talent through his coaching abilities on game day like the better coaches can.

Period.

Bobby Petrino at Arkansas vs. Nick Saban:

0-4
average score = 36.5 - 13.75
average off output = 302.5 yards per game
average def yards given up = 411.25 yards per game

In summary, Saban beat the piss out of Petrino on average while he was at Arkansas. And Petrino's best team, 2011, Saban beat them down. 38-14. 397 total yards vs. 209 for Ark.

So, vs. Saban, Petrino's offense sucked and his defense sucked worse.

Saban took over one of the worst teams in the league and was 2 games below .500 in 2 years. Wasn't petrino like 4-12 in Atlanta?

Yes, he would be successful at any school where he has a solid recruiting foundation.

The Saban of the late '90s at MSU and early '00s at LSU? Maybe, but it would take more time to import the talent, after building up his credibility.

Ark doesn't have the talent of La, nor the LSU title in back pocket that he then took over to behemoth Alabama lore after NFL stop.

At Ark? Yes, he could, but it would've taken much longer than the 3 to 4 years with LSU and Bama, sorta like the in-state tide he was stemming at MSU vs Mich, when LSU came calling..smaller platform like Ark, despite the Duffy and Bubba Smith lore of long ago.

Not that I'd ever expect a rational thought to come out of your brain about anything to do with Alabama or Nick Saban, but you're making a lot of really terrible assumptions and using an awful double standard.

The Nick Saban of Michigan State is not anywhere close to the same Nick Saban of Alabama. They are completely different coaches. He's gotten exponentially better.

To put that into perspective: Are you better at doing your job today than you were at doing that same job 15 years ago? Of course you are. You've learned more, practiced more, failed some, succeeded, and fixed mistakes.

The same can be said with Saban. He has perfected his skill. We are dominating teams on a weekly basis - with very few exceptions. A lot of that has to do with talent... but there are a lot of very talented teams who lose multiple games every year. He is among the elite of X's and O's coaches in America.

And the 2007 Alabama football team was the first Alabama football team in more than 40 years to not have a single player drafted. Saban said a couple years later that there would have been very few players on that roster that would have earned a scholarship from him had he been the one recruiting. He took the least talented team Alabama's had in 40 years and won 7 games with them. Among the losses were some games that we had absolutely no business competing in. We lost to National Champion LSU in the final minutes of the game, and we lost to UGA in overtime.

I can't see Saban ever coaching at LSU's rival. Nope, can't see it.
