Cub turns 70 this year. Doubt he will be doing much more than drooling in about three years. Not trying to be mean, but look at pictures of the guy. He has been ridden hard and hung up wet.

And yet again, he somehow...if all of your Auburn brethren are to be believed...at his advanced age and obvious physical decline, managed to literally speak an entire D-1 football program out of existence. If Battle manages to retire before Cub drops dead...which is very likely...he will once again be able to speak the word and get what he wants. Surely you would agree that the man powerful enough to wipe from existence an entire program would also have the power to get an AD hired, right?

I agree he has the power. My point is he will probably be gone from this planet before Saban hits the retirement stage. I do not think Saban can stop, he is hard wired to work 70 hours a week and loves coaching too much.

He has a shot to beat Bryant's six NC's but even tying would be more impressive since several of Bryant's titles were split ones. But as long as he's enjoying it why not go for 3 more? That record could last for a 100 years.

I have thought about this before. I do not think we can really compare Bryant and Saban.

I look back on the titles Saban won. If not for the BCS, LSU would probably have played a lesser quality opponent and won in 2011. In 2012, Notre Dame would have probably played a crappy Pac 12 team and been voted number one because of bias. I think Alabama would have gotten screwed out of at least two of those championships.

I wonder how many times Bryant got screwed because he was denied a head to head.

It is funny in retrospect how I moaned about the BCS when the truth is it was pretty good to the SEC (although LSU fans might disagree)

Sorry, SEC. Saban isn't going anywhere anytime soon, since he has the chance to be the best ever the way he recruits and the current state of Alabama's tradition

The part that really sux for LSU

He went to a rival.
Mulligan Game.
2012 & 2014 you had them beat and blew it.

I'd like to return a few whippings before the midget kills over

LSU fans have 2007 to be thankful for.

Remind me, who won the SECCG in 2007?

Thanks for playing....we won it on the field and didn't need a rematch.

The Alabama job has been detrimental to coaches. If Saban is smart, he'll get out soon before he croaks like Bear Bryant did when the job killed him. Or maybe he'll underachieve and get bricks thrown at his house, along with death threats, like Bill Curry and his family. Perhaps he'll end up like Gene Stallings and Bama will try and tarnish his reputation to get him out. Given the stress, an affair with a secretary or excursion to a strip club might not be out of the question either

I played. It was a boring game. The SECCG wasn't a BCS bowl game. Since we're talking about the BCS, your comment is as random as it is pointless. Without the BCS, the likely matchup would have been Ohio State vs USC in the Rose Bowl, with the winner likely getting the AP title.

So, yes, y'all have the BCS to thank for 2007. Stop being such a bitch about a comment that wasn't intended as an insult.

Yes, I gathered that from the fact that you were being an oversensitive bitch. Unfortunately, I'm not available. Do you have close friends or family about? Or a reasonably accommodating neighbor?

You do know that much of what you have just said is just legend and no truth to it?
There was no brick thrown thru Curry's window.
You hear something enough times, and you believe it. If we wanted to throw a brick it would have been for Mike Dubose.
Coaching did not kill coach Bryant, he had a few habits that were not good for him. You can ask Coach Dye, because he has the same habits.
Coach Stallings wanted to spend time with John Mark, and it's a good thing that he did take this time to do this.

Oh good lord. You really are an oversensitive bitch if somebody talking about 2007 LSU hurts your feelings. It wasn't a jab, it was a historical reality, and I brought it up in direct response to another person's observation about the BCS with regards to LSU. I explained, quite correctly, why LSU benefited from the BCS. I can't help it if you think somebody talking about 2007 LSU is always going to be a jab.

You probably think it's clever, right? You act like a bitch, ignore the actual content, and try to make it all about the other person?

Yeah, I bet you do think it's clever. It was back in 5th grade.

I'm still not convinced Nick knows how to completely unwind, relax, chill out, enjoy a normal life and be content to with the company of his family. I somehow see him working until his health gets the best of him and he is forced to hang it up.
