I don't either and I don't give a frick. It just amazes me that people honestly think their entire football fanbase also gives a shite about a stupid sport like baseball )and/or golf). Almost every LSU fan I know couldn't even tell you who their coach is.

most bandwagon/non-alums don't really get into anything except football.

I think our soccer team is getting better, which I'm pretty happy about. Had a player called up to the Dutch national team. Also, our hockey team did better in the post season than they ever have.

I'm sure the word will get around campus, that's a big deal. Maybe one of the qb's likes golf, and it makes him feel more at home. That's all I got.

I don't know any LSU fan who doesn't know who the baseball coach is. Maybe it's simply your choice of association, and you've generalized it as all inclusive.
