The Mettenberger family are friends of ours and I wish Zach the best over there. Mett needed to grow up some and I hear he has.

That being said there are many on this board stating Mettenberger was ahead of Murray before getting booted out by Richt. This is not true. I won't elaborate but Murray was always ahead of Mett. Mett has more physical tools as a drop back passer but Murray has intangibles that cannot be taught.

Good luck to Zach. I think he will do well. Hopefully LSU will drop the speed option play while he is in there.

From the moment they both stepped on campus Murray always had the advantage over Mett. The only people who think otherwise are the ones who have only seen him play once and it was a practice scrimmage.

Mett has the strongest arm to come outta the state of GA in quite some time.

I agree with the OP. Murray looks to me like a more mobile version of Drew Brees. I love watching that kid play. I think he will be 2-3 time all SEC performer.

I hope Mett can just be an upgrade over what we have had the past 3 years. We need a big armed accurate tough kid who can get it out quick and stretch the field. Could be the perfect fit for LSU in 2012-2013.

I still say JJ starts every game next year barring injury

I don't know much about this Mett kid, but Murray is the real deal. Georgia is very fortunate to have him. The kid can do it all.

I offer my congratulations as well Glad he landed on his feet at a school like LSU (just make sure he has a chaperone when he goes arse-grabbing at the bars )

frick that. We should be supplying the arse for him to grab. Life on campus for an LSU athlete is quite an experience when it comes to the ladies.

Great pick up tigers. Mett was a little to cocky & arrogant (read immature) coming outta High School. He's got good parents & a good upbringing. I think his whole situation has opened his eyes & made him a better kid. Everyone makes mistakes & I'm betting Mett learned from his & is appreciative of his 2nd. chance. I think he'll make y'all proud. Comparing Mett to Murray is apples & oranges. Both have strength's & weaknesses. Mett's gonna be a great one for LSU...

I hope having Mett at bowl practice and spring practice allows him to adjust quickly enough to be our starter next year. :crossfingers:

UGA fans saying Murray is better than Mett...

I do not doubt that at all. Keep in mind, though, that the past two seasons LSU has gone 19-6 with a 100th ranked offense. All we need is a QB that can throw the ball down the field for maybe 200 yards a game to open up the running game. If we had a legitimate passing attack, Ridley would be a top tier back.

Simply put, LSU does not need the QB that UGA does to be effective. We just need someone who can manage a game and throw the ball more than 8 yards.

If he has sub par games, and Met plays great in mop up duty or while playing sparingly as part of the two QB system, there is no way Met doesn't start towards the end of next season.

Do Georgia fans call him this? I've never seen a player's name get abbreviated so much.
