There is absolutely a logical explanation, you clearly didn't watch the game. Stats can be misleading. Look up the average field position of Florida that game. Guess what ace, it was about the 35, Tennessee's 35. You don't get a lot of yards when you are 40 yards away from the end zone every possession. Why don't you look up 2006 Florida vs UT.

You also seem to ignore the most important defensive stat.
2008 Florid 30 points
2009 Florida 23 points
But it's ok I understand, using that stat would have severly hindered your argument
John Chavis isn't good enough to hold Monte's clipboard.

care to share that with us?

Tennessee had a top 5 nationally ranked defense last year and this year. Of course I would take Monte over Chavis, but that's me. I have no dog in this fight.

TouchdownTN,
It's not at that stage yet. I think if it ever goes public you will know.

That's not my point.
I'm making a case for why Chavis's defense has outperformed Monte's statistically.
Chavis is a good defensive coach, maybe even a great one, but Monte Kiffin he is not.

The statistics shown were from when he was a coach at Tennessee vs Florida and Monte vs. Florida. Did you miss that?

I think Monte's biggest problem is an upcoming heart attack. Other than that, He knows his shite. Chavis is good, but Monte> Chavis. Long term I am happy with Chavis. After last year I would have taken and underrated ymca coach

Florida has been together for 4 years. This staff has been together for 3 games and we played the best team in the country as well as we could with what we had.
Really, is this what Tennessee has become? A team that SHOULD be a pillar of strength in the SEC East lowers itself to claim moral victories now?
I would expect to hear that kind of thing from Vanderbilt or South Carolina. But Tennessee?
This is pathetic. Don't try to make Tennessee out to be some sort of victim here, playing with one hand tied behind their back against "overwhelming" odds.
So far this year, you pounded a cupcake, EMBARASSED the entire conference with a loss to a UCLA team, which, honestly is not very good... and lost again to a fellow SEC East member for the fifth year in a row. You didn't lose to the New England Patriots today. It was Florida. The #1 team in the nation, but not some sort of invincible team from another world, which is what some of your fans are making it sound like.
Tennessee football is FAR from the shambling wreck that you are making it out to be. Your team is underachieving, not undermanned. And that's why none of you should be satisfied with "keeping it close" with Florida. It's your job to BEAT Florida, remember??

My mistake.
And yet in Chavis's last two games against Florida we lost by a combined 63 points. This one we lost by 10.

Don't waste your time. They're more delusional than the Gumps.
We'll. Equally so.
We'll see what they say after Georgia and USCe beats them too. Maybe even KY too. Vandy ain't got a chance. They're regressing.

I suppose you think you were undermanned vs. UCLA, too?
