Avery is doing a really good job. He's a better coach than what I thought he was based on his time in Dallas.
And have fun in the NIT, LSU.

We'll be in the tournament. Our RPI is too good for us to be left out. But thanks for the thoughts.

I bet Lunardi still has us as a higher seed than Florida after tonight.

For as much crap as we get, I bet most people hope we beat yall Saturday.

And my opinion still matters as much as Lunardi's. But ok.

Lunardi is irrelevant until his final bracket, that's the only one he's held accountable for. Until then he and ESPN are still trying to make BPI a thing and he uses it as a criteria in his brackets. Obviously it isn't a criteria the committee, or anybody outside of ESPN, takes into account or even acknowledges.

Palm has us as a #8 seed this morning. #32 RPI, top 20 SOS, and five top 50 wins (3 away from home) is not a play-in resume. Lunardi has us there, for now, because of our BPI. Which again, see above, is irrelevant.

We have a better record than LSU and a much harder SOS. We're also 51, I repeat, 51 spots ahead in RPI. Not sure how Lunardi has LSU in while we play the play-in game. I guess I'll just go by Palm's projection as a much more likely 8 seed at this point.

As the authoritative figure on Florida and LSU basketball having watched Alabama beat both of you on your home courts in the last five days, I will agree that at home LSU should beat Florida. Granted though, with their talent LSU should've beaten just about everybody they've played so far.

He's doing a great job. One of our local sportscaster said the other night he didn't realize how bad Grant was until he watched Avery coach in practice and games. One of the things that Avery did for example was every football game you would see Avery around the quad/outside the stadium. Shaking hands, kissing babies, using football as a time to recruit the fanbase. Grant was never around on football saturday. he was asked about it and Grant said he would coach the team and then it was family time after that and he couldn't be a part of the Crimson Caravan around the state or make all his speaking engagements. Good for his family, bad for Bama basketball. Most D1 coaches are 18 hour a day guys. Heck, even Saban still participates in the Caravan. STILL trying to keep the fans pumped.
We will probably wind up in the NIT as a pretty good seed because we are playing above our heads right now but that's cool. We were gonna be happy if he could break 15 wins this season. Now, we can build on our season.

I guess you didn't catch my sarcasm.

We've played above our heads all year long, I don't see why they can't keep it up. Frankly we don't even have to though, especially seeing how we just went through the toughest remaining part of our schedule 3-0. We don't need to win at Kentucky, we don't even have to win at Georgia. Take care of business at home against three bad teams and we'll get to 10-8 in the league and 19-11 over all if we lose both road games. That would let us end the year with a top 25 SOS, top 40 RPI, at least five top 50 wins, at least 7 road/neutral wins... That's a very solid tournament resume every day of the week.
