Same math that produced 6 national titles for Tennessee out of 2 AP titles.

You should be very familiar with it.

Tennessee fans don't claim 6.

Bammers will fight you to claim 16.

Illinois, Rutgers, Syracuse, Wisconsin, South Carolina, Oregon State, Kentucky and Virginia aren't any closer to winning national titles than they were in 1960.

I seem to recall Beano Cook saying something in the early 90s to the effect of, "Pick any NFL franchise you want, no matter how terrible, and I'll pick 30 Division 1 football programs. I guarantee your team will play in the Super Bowl before any of the teams on my list will play for a national championship."

Seems like Vandy and Missisippi State were on his list, along with teams like Rice, Wake Forest, Duke, Northwestern, and all the teams you listed (save for maybe Wisconsin).

The only NFL franchise since he said that who has never played in the SB is Detroit. There's probably 50 or 60 Division 1 teams that haven't played for an NC before or since.

He's had more success in a harder era to win football games and during by far the best run I've ever seen a single conference have with quality teams top to bottom.

If he's not the GOAT I just don't know who you put ahead of him. Osbourne? Getting harder every season to keep that title from Saban.
