Saban is ahead of the Bear's pace.

That's still debatable. Bryant didn't recruit high end NFL talent to Alabama on a yearly basis. He was one of those coaches who could win with his and then turn around and win with yours.

Nick Saban IS Alabama football. He would have the same success at 30 other schools.

How this myth ever began.......

Bryant would sign 1,567 recruits so your players sucked

You sure about that?

Sabans 1st 5 years at LSU as a younger coach at his first major program

2 SEC titles
1 national title

Sabans 1st 5 years at Bama as a more experienced coach

1 SEC title
2 national titles

To actually discuss the OP

What Saban has done is far more impressive. The parity is tenfold what it was for Bear. There were only a few programs that went all in back then compared to today, couple that with the scholarship limitations and Saban is the clear GOAT

The Bear wasn't able to give away Dodge Chargers.

As an LSU fan, I am in awe of Nick Saban's accomplishments as a coach. It's an incredible record.

I think he is probably the all time greatest.

I'm glad the graphic makes it clear that it was Saban who got the extension.

The system for National titles is much more open now than it was during Bear's day. Back then, you had to finish #1 to have a guaranteed chance at the championship.

except for the whole part about there being multiple split national titles. Since the inception of the BCS, there has been 1 time that happened. Oddly enough, Saban's 2003 title is that one occurrence
