It really depends on personal taste, IMO. Clemson is a solid college town but that's about it. It's half the size of Athens, with less to do than any town in the SEC, save maybe Starkville. Columbia is a capitol city / college town mixture, with activities for both. It has much more of a city atmosphere than Clemson, but many people prefer the college town feel over city life. Either way, they're both fun with their own unique characteristics.

Eyez here bitch...

Auburn fans, come to Columbia. Go to Salty's/Pavs on Friday night and you will not be disappointed if you are between the ages of 18-30. I promise.

This.

Why the hell would anyone want to visit Clemson if there are other options available?

Tailgating, probably. More like a college town.

Bars, nightlife, gameday atmosphere, Clemson isnt even close.

Seriously, people, if you're trying to figure out whether Clemson or Carolina has the best party atmosphere, I give you the definitive answer in two words:

Go to Clemson. SC will be the better game, but you can go to Columbia every 5 years. Clemson is a unique trip that you might not get to make again for a long time. The "uniqueness" of it will also probably make their fans hospitable and welcoming towards you, whereas SC will have a bad taste in their mouth from last year. It'll also give you a chance to see "one of the greatest traditions in college football", although personally I think the rock/run down the hill is overrated as FRICK. But at least you can say you've seen it.

I do like how at ACC stadiums you can leave at half time.

Just heard on news they announced an 11 a.m. ABC kickoff for Clemson.

Go to Columbia.

I'll be honest, after traveling to Columbia, that place outright sucked compared to other stadiums. And I'm not saying that because we lost, just because of the facilities and everything around the stadium, which is not much at all...Go with Clemson.

So you're judging Columbia entirely based off the area immediately surrounding Williams-Brice? An area, with the exception of a few condos and apartment buildings, almost every Gamecock would agree sucks arse?

I've seen UT's "Running Through the T" and Clemsons Hill Run, in addition to just being biased.. I'm so used to 2001 being a song that is such a deliberate buildup and has a definite "peak ending" other entrances just come off as sending their team in at a random point.
