Well they are...

It's still a top 3/4 job.

ATM is not the 11th best job. You are Texas' little brother. You also have the weirdest traditions in college football and there isn't even a close second. A person could start telling jokes about your cult when they were first born and they would still have plenty of material left when they were 100 years old

I think after Saban leaves that Bama won't be as attractive of a job. He's just been too damn good, and the fan base won't accept anything less IMO. Of course they have the recognition and prestige, but I think the coach after Saban is going to really have his hands full trying to meet expectations.

Put your hatred aside, Bama is always gonna be in the top 5. The University support, the facilities, the fan support, the national caché, tradition etc. is 2nd to none. The expectations are off the chart but the best of the best will always wanna give it a go in Tuscaloosa just to see if they can measure up. It takes a special kinda coach but even as an UGA fan I can admit it's a special place...

Where do you see Oregon?

They have everything except a good recruiting base, I would probably have them right outside the top 15. They have steadily been moving up.

I have put my hatred aside. Look at their results after the Bear. Yes, it's a top 5 job in the country. But as a HC who has been offered the job after Saban retires, the expectations have to be taken into account.

I personally think Arky is a tough tough gig. You have to be a great coach to be successful there. You will never be good in recruiting, but the fanbase still wants top dog success.

It definitely takes the right fit more than other schools with more advantages would, but they will take care of you and give you everything you need if you can give them a reason to be faithful.

They gave Bobby P every resource he asked for, and they also knew Bert would need a long grace period before they could really start judging his results.

Define "good"

No, what do you think would have happened had an LSU coach gone 3-9 his first year? They would've been calling for his head. Most of our fans were and are willing to give Bielema time to build things his way.

We'll never be top 10 in recruiting but there honestly isn't much difference from around 15-25 which is where we usually land.

So far under Bielema we've done a good job of getting guys from Florida and with how loaded Louisiana was last year we got good players from there like Jared Cornelius and Santos Ramirez that LSU just didn't have room for.

They are the most successful program on the west coast. They get plenty of first picks.

I see what you are saying, but it is a very simplistic view post Bryant. Our main issues post Bryant were two major probations and a couple of really bad hires. That said, we still won a natty and multiple conference titles between Bryant and Saban which pretty much proves the point that Bama will never be down for very long.

Yeah so what, we have many very old long standing traditions and a huge and loyal fan base that gets larger every year, who aren't afraid to support the program. Sounds like a pretty good gig to me. Sorry you can't get away from your big brother, sack up and switch conferences and become your own man and maybe you will get ranked ahead of us.

Look at their class, now go look at USC and UCLA. There is no comparison.

But to win the SEC, you are going to have to beat out 5-6 programs every year that has better talent than you. That is tough. I think Bert is a great coach, but it will be so hard for him to ever win the SEC
