I kinda disagree with Alabama being at #2, only because of crazy expectations that Saban will leave for his successor.
6-7 mil/yr could be a nice distraction from all the stress, for the right coach

A&M played in the first BCS Sugar Bowl.
Ok my bad over 15 years ago.
Still it's a top 10 job to get paid and do nothing, but based on success and culture, it's not top 10, I'd give it top 20.

Mizzou is too low. If I had to choose between Mizzou, Ole Miss or MSU I would take Mizzou all day.

Hooray! We got 3rd in the SEC West again!

Prestige prestige blah blah..if you were a major coach looking for a job, would turn down A&M for ND? ND wouldn't be in my top 20 and maybe not top 25.
I agree to an extent. But ND is a bad example and certainly don't belong on this list in the top 10.

I would be curious where Colorado and North Carolina rank on that list. Those would be awesome jobs if you just get to a bowl game every year

I don't see the job being unattractive after Saban. I do see the next coach failing and being fired rather quickly. Which is why I want Dabo. He can recuit with the best of them so at least our cupboard will be full for the guy after him. Dabo can be our sacrafical lamb while keeping the talent up to snuff.
It may end up that way, but it does not have to be that way. Les won a natty after Saban, Fisher after Bowden, Coker after Erickson, etc. It is possible to have a successful transition after a great coach.

yea the next coach at Alabama isn't getting 6-7M unless you pull the other Harbaugh away from Baltimore.

Sure it can, but will Alabama be willing to pay that, if the "right coach" isn't available?

I'm sure you think Arkansas is a better job as well.

Not saying it doesn't happen, but in all of these examples it took a long time. remember, Bowden face planted for a while before he 'retired'.

I personally think Arky is a tough tough gig. You have to be a great coach to be successful there. You will never be good in recruiting, but the fanbase still wants top dog success.

I feel the same way, but an ego maniac like urban and so many like him in this profession do not see it that way, especially with a 7 million dollar check each year in their pockets.

For sure, but Urban and Saban are in another league. Harbaugh as well.

Not really. But we did hire a power 5 coach and you went mid major...
Just sayin' money and facilities don't mean everything. I think A&M is top 20 for sure but on the cusp of top 10? No way. Where do you see Oregon?

Any job that allows you to coach football in a major conference, while simultaneously earning millions of dollars = a top job
Parsing which particular job better allows you to live the dream is subjective semantics.

3 Aggies on the first page saying Texas is too high.

Bama will have no scruples about going out and hiring the best and breaking the bank to do so after Saban leaves if they think that is the best path for continued success. They will either go hire another huge name and pay him an insane salary or hire from within the Saban tree at a cheaper price, someone like Kirby or coach Mac if he has success at Florida. Either way the next guy should be fairly successful with what he inherits. Les Miles has proven that, if nothing else.
