Yes.

Arkansas: Forces Houston Nutt out after 3 division titles, has two ten win seasons within the next 4 years.
Nutt was defined as unsuccessful by Arkansas fans at the time.

Auburn: Fires Chiz after NC, wins SEC the next season
Auburn is an example of the football gods fricking with everyone.
quote:
LSU: fires Dinardo after he brings LSU back from the grave, brings Saban in and has an NC 5 years later.
Incorrect. Dinardo never crested .600, did you call that success? Look back to Arnsparger.

Um. Your rule is invalid. I can't be triggered by invalid rules.
Spurrier, Zook, Urban
Florida is only receiving half punishment because Spurrier and Urban left on their own. Thus only one suck coach in between

Stallings left after the 1996 season. Announced it after the 1996 Iron Bowl.

Jim Tressel was forced to resign amid NCAA violations and Urban won a NC just a few years later.
I'll have to think about that one, but it would appear that the NCAA specifically forced Tressel out, Ohio State (even after the allegations blew wide open) said they wanted to keep him. The football gods may know something we don't.

Fix your "rule". It's broken.

Is a 10 win season supposed to represent success in some way?
Read the rule. It is defined by a fanbase's expectations. So for one team, an NC appearance is a failure, while for another, a bowl game is success.
Posted on 10/6/15 at 3:53 pm to roadGator
It's not my rule. I can't fix it.
Posted on 10/6/15 at 3:54 pm to cokebottleag
So you admit it's broken? Who do I talk to about getting it fixed?
Posted on 10/6/15 at 3:55 pm to roadGator
Just accept McElwain is going to suck.

I can't. Because that's not in the rules. That's why I want to have your little rule fixed. Otherwise, Mac isn't going to suck.

Is that in the rules?
Yes, I'm an old school LSU fan. I know the rules.

OK then. You are further proof that the OP is, well, challenged.

Once a successful coach leaves involuntarily or is fired, a school will endure 2 unsuccessful coaches or 10 years
your explanation of the "rule" for UF makes no sense.
Spurrier left voluntarily. Replaced by Zook (only 3 years of irrelevance for UF, THEN we were back).
Zook was followed by, Urban Meyer a 2-time BCS Championship Coach.
For UF, the rule would not take effect until a SUCCESSFUL Coach was fired. We never fire SUCCESSFUL coaches, they leave on their own (NFL, Ohio State).
Last 2 coaches fired were not successful: Zook, Muschamp
Urban was not fired and he VOLUNTARILY left. Therefore the rule could not be tested again until a succesful coach is fired.

We helped Mac Pack and in the most hateful expression of football godisness Bo Rein's plane went down and LSU experienced TWENTY YEARS in the coaching wilderness, mostly the bad, bad lands.
Except that the program improved for the first nine years (with four different coaches) after Mac was gone.
1979: Mac's last season
1982: First major bowl game (Orange) since 1973 (Orange)
1984: First Sugar Bowl appearance since 1967
1986: First SEC title since 1970, another Sugar Bowl appearance
1987: First 10-win season since 1961
1988: Another SEC title
Coaches:
1) Bo Rein (killed before he coached a game)
2) Jerry Stovall (Went to Orange Bowl in 3rd year, fired the following year)
3) Bill Arnsparger (went to two Sugar Bowls, won 1 SEC title in 3 years, then took job as Florida AD)
4) Mike Archer (1 SEC title, a 10-win season, then took the program into the abyss...beginning in 1989...TEN YEARS after Mac was let go)
But the revisionist historians have repeated the "getting rid of Mac sent the program into the shitter" narrative so many times even they believe it.

Dude, Stovall, an all time great player, was the epitome (until Archer) came along) of winning with the last dude's squad. He was an emergency hire and left the program worse than he found it. Arnparger came long enough to remind us what a real CFB program we could be, then skipped of to Florida, talked us out of Spurrier and into Archer then proceeded to build that juggernaut in gainsville instead of baton rouge, so yea "great" times for LSU.
Archer won in his first year and then well, SUCK.
Curly, the 90s....
Just saying...
