5 fouls is enough.. if they are trying to promote cleaner basketball then why would you look at the possibility of increasing the number of fouls before fouling out? It's the complete opposite of what they're trying to accomplish in all of the other rules.

They are still just proposed and not official. The group that approves the rules could decide not to

I would assume because of the more possessions. Average this year was 68, now with these changes they estimate 80. So more fouls possible, add one.

Have always supported

5 second call while dribbling removed

Oppose

Faking a foul/flop can result in a technical and be reviewed

Support but I doubt this will be enforced well

quote:

Calling a timeout in backcourt will no longer grant another 10 seconds

This should have always been the rule

quote:

2016 postseason (NIT) will experiment with 6 fouls per player to foul out

Oppose on the basis of opposing the shorter shot clock

Removed one team timeout in 2nd half, coaches can no longer call live ball timeouts, if a timeout is taken close to the media timeout, it will now serve as the media timeout

This won't effect johnny jones, we usually end the game with 4 timeouts left

I hate the shot clock rule. I think it starts pushing things to one style of play. I did not like it when they moved it from 45 as it took away so many different strategies. I understand wanting higher scoring, but you get higher scoring from better shooting and shot quality not amount of shots.

Well, Bilas wants the 24 second shot clock and said we'll eventually get there.

They will never go to 24 in NCAA IMO. Bilas also wants to make you think he cares about all the sport, which he doesn't. Nobody at the networks does. The coaches that are pushing this rule are not caring for it either, if they did they would leave it alone. This is a rich get richer rule with the shot clock.

Stop saying they're official without a link

I provided a link that says they are just proposed. Jay Bilas is an idiot so even if he said what you claim he is wrong

No they have to go to another committee first. The PROP doesn't meet until June 8.

I'm in favor, nothing worse than watching Bucknell run a shot clock down to 10 before ever doing anything and the games being in the 40s and 50s for scoring. So boring.

NBA is 24, women's college is 30, I'd like men's to settle at 27 myself but 30 is a good start.

Just go ahead and adopt all the NBA rules. Defensive 3, wider lane, advancing the ball all need to be added.

I just do not know what to tell you. Scoring wont increase due to shot clock, I think it will decrease. You think watching basketball is bad now? Wait until you see a bunch of hurried shots, no sets, and terrible execution because they will clear out and some guy who cant drive is stuck.

5 seconds won't make that much of a difference at all. About 12 more possessions per game.

Yep. Add in the other pace of play changes and the arc, maybe 10 or so more points per game, which is about right.
