Shot clock from 35 to 30
Arc expanded from 3ft to 4ft
Removed one team timeout in 2nd half, coaches can no longer call live ball timeouts, if a timeout is taken close to the media timeout, it will now serve as the media timeout
5 second call while dribbling removed
Faking a foul/flop can result in a technical and be reviewed
Calling a timeout in backcourt will no longer grant another 10 seconds
2016 postseason (NIT) will experiment with 6 fouls per player to foul out

Yes, by postseason they mean like this year's experiments, NIT.

Good. Wish they would've expanded the 3 point line but I still like all the changes they made.

Just make it a typical foul.

If the ball is in play, a coach cannot call a timeout now. A player has to call it. Coaches can still call dead ball timeouts of course.

i am confuzzled, there's 15 seconds left and your center has the ball dribbling because everyone else was covered and he can't find anyone to get it to and there can't be a timeout called because the ball is in play? or am i misinterpreting what live ball means?
eta: i'm too slow, i see now- players have to call it.

A coach can't call it. A player can.

You are correct, player has to call it. Coaches cannot.

A player can call a time out, but the coach can't.

Like all of these changes. Would like to see the three point line moved back some though.

Thanks for the clarification.

Should be intentional foul. You can't make a decision to fake a foul, without planning on doing so. Quit letting basketball imitate soccer.

These rules aren't official, they are being proposed by the rules committee

On Friday, the men's basketball rules committee announced that it would recommend shortening the shot clock from 35 seconds to 30, increase the restricted area arc in front of the basket from three feet to four feet, and three changes aimed at reducing timeouts.

The rules proposals will be reviewed between now and June 8 by The NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel, which decides which will be enacted.

It's live on SC right now, Jay Bilas just got off the phone with the committee chairman and they are being approved. Pretty official.
Just had a big segment on it breaking it all down.
But we've known the shot clock and arc were being approved months ago, mainly the timeouts and other rules that are newly known.
