Even though I do think it's weird that Alabama never has a black quarterback, I agree with you. It's not like Alabama stays away from black quarterbacks, they just never end up working out in the end.

Of course there is interest. Bama has frickloads of talent. They find a legit Qb they will contend for the west this year.

He deserves a chance to prove himself and all, but he's done nothing, high school or college, to prove that he is some kind of exceptional quarterback, or anything to be overly excited for.

You always should be excited about a guy with the size, arm, and athleticism. Is he accurate? Does he have the intangibles? Don't know, but we don't know with any of our options so it's all up in the air.

We've had black QBs in the past. However, we've also coupled them with some of the worst Bama teams in our history. Andrew Zow could have been decent if he had a better supporting cast.

Phillip Sims almost beat out AJ in 2011. He was just too inconsistent.

N Sims isn't going to play because of scheme and talent. Suggesting he isn't going to play because he is black is racist. Your fellow aubs agreed.

He was recruited by Saban, he has been there for a long time. Your logic of he does not fit Alabama's style is strange. I hope Sims wins the job and proves me wrong, this has been discussed before. How is what I said racist? I have not called you a racist for supporting the White transfer QB.

Now I admit to believing the UA football team has a bias against Black QBs. Winston believed the same thing.

I agree with TiM. Sims is out, Coker has a slim chance.

then you believe something stupid

it's just a random thing, it doesn't have to mean anything

if Jameis Winston had come to Alabama he would be our starter next year and we wouldn't be courting his back up out of Florida State

there is no bias against anyone playing any position at the University of Alabama I promise you

oh well that settles it for me. Jameis thinks so, therefore it must be.

Auburn fans of all people should reserve judgement IMO. The QB that just took your team to the BCSNCG was a Safety coming out of high school. Sometimes kids just get looked over.
Nick Marshall was a quarterback all through high school and set numerous records. He was also an exceptional basketball player, and he oozed athleticism at everything he did. Mark Richt convinced him to come play cornerback for Georgia and the rest is history. He was essentially a quarterback his entire life and he was coming into an offense that would show case his skills perfectly (Gus Malzahn's offense).

Zow only played when Tyler Watts got hurt. Zow destroyed Auburn and showed he was the best QB. That was a long time ago, who was the coach? The year?

I just think it will be tough for a guy that started one year in high school at Qb and none in college including juco to show up and win the job without even getting on campus until summer.

Sims was recruited as an athlete, I think most were expecting him to be a DB.

I'm sorry, but what does this prove?

how often does a coach have to start a player of a certain race or religion to pass your "not racist" test?

this is Auburn message board BS at its best - Alabama starts people of all colors at every position but because we haven't had a black quarterback in awhile morons on the internet start screaming racism

tell me you can at least see where the other side is coming from
