One Iron Bowl upset and the barners think we hire coaches and recruit players with Gus in mind...

Coker is an interesting QB for Bama. He ran the wing t in high school and was known more for his legs then his arm. His QB coach now was at UT for a long time and then Kentucky. He's the guy that made the high praise comments. He's most know for developing Andre Woodson. Going to interesting to see how he plays out for Bama.

Trey.

You know your school, the history and their reputation.. You have the obvious choice of Sims. He has been in the program for 4 years.. It may have hit close to home, the truth is sometimes inconvenient.

He isn't a long shot because Bama has no proven anything at the position. I think he has the best shot, but not as good as the other guys when combining their chances.

Coker is totally unproven as well. He isn't like cam or nick who led a team an entire season in juco. Not even close.

Jacob Coker was also, apparently, the fourth best quarterback on Florida State's roster last year as well. EJ Manuel and Clint Tricket were the #1 and #2, and we all found out that Jameis Winston was better than him this year. So, basically, he was the fourth string quarterback...

He deserves a chance to prove himself and all, but he's done nothing, high school or college, to prove that he is some kind of exceptional quarterback, or anything to be overly excited for.

You can thank Randy Sanders for the Coker hype right now.

Sims isn't going to play because of scheme and talent. Suggesting he isn't going to play because he is black is racist. Your fellow aubs agreed.

if only he had been arrested, LSU or Auburn would be potential school destinations.

Sims is terrible. I think it will end up being one of the young guys with a higher ceiling than Sims or Coker, but who knows.

It could be. Doesn't hurt to bring in Coker though.

Even though I do think it's weird that Alabama never has a black quarterback, I agree with you. It's not like Alabama stays away from black quarterbacks, they just never end up working out in the end.

Nope. I'm not being critical of the move. Most important position, saban wants to have options and see who wins the spot.

To be fair, St Pauls ran a Wing T right after AJ left which really hampered Coker's recruitment. There just wasn't enough film of him throwing the football to warrant any interest. FSU got him in camp and they were blown away by his arm strength. Credit Jimbo and staff for getting on him early. Alabama tried after seeing his Senior film, but it was too late.

Auburn fans of all people should reserve judgement IMO. The QB that just took your team to the BCSNCG was a Safety coming out of high school. Sometimes kids just get looked over.

Nope. He'll graduate in May then transfer, so he can play immediately.
