Coker's advantage over the other guys is that he will have spent less time being ruined by Kiffin when fall camp starts. If he's a quick learner, he should be able to make-up ground by the season opener.

Only dumbasses make any assessment on the team based on the Spring game.

Other than the RBs, the Bama spring game was hard to watch.

The only bright spot as it stands for Bama. They have a stable and it will probably be like GMac dickriding Trent and Ingram in 09 till whoever this year's starter shakes out to be gets comfortable with throwing a forward pass.

It is silly to write people off this early, especially after a spring game with a watered down offense that is basically being fed to the defense like lambs to lions.

Wishful thinking from the Aubs. Whoever our QB is he will have more total yards than Nick Marshall. That I can guarantee.

Hi Lane, good luck with that guarantee. Hope you guys are renting in Tuscasloosa and didn't buy. Tell the Layla I said hello.

Well, we start off our schedule fairly light - thanks to WV turning into a dumpster fire shortly after we scheduled them. The defense is solid, the running game is powerful, and the OL looked pretty good. We can keep the heat off of the QB for a while and hope he gets up to speed.

Hypothetical Question for non Bama fans. If you knew today that Jacob Coker was going to come in and be the best QB in the conference, and that our freshman kicker was going to do the same, would Bama be the team to beat next year? I realize these are big ifs, but humor me.

Yes, but since those two ifs are not happening, there are a lot of teams that could win the conference...

I agree with you. There are several teams that could win it, the usual suspects Bama, Auburn, LSU, UGA, SC. The questions is who will be the Auburn or Misouri this year, or will there be one of those teams?
