Bielema did it three years in a row (I understand about the third).

while going 17-7. how do you avg 2 losses a season and win your conf?

and i say again did not win a bowl game during those years...

he only won 2 in his last 8 years... 1 barely against a garbage arky team and another against a sub-par miami team

barry alvarez had similar feats early in his career at Wisc... nothing special

he coached a team(decently) at the right time that is all

he also lost his biggest games...

yes with a 10-2 record you won the West over a 10-2 LSU and a 10-2 AU then failed us in ATL

stupid ties

i hate that year... ok... so maybe that arky team had some pretty good players on it but i think you are missing the point

and im pretty sure the only reason arky made it is because AU and LSU already played UF

ETA: AU n LSU both won their post-season games... IJS

7-1 was actually the best record in the division.

LOL. Not sure how the whole thing works, are you.

Arkansas had already won the division outright before the LSU game that year, also had the best record in the division.

You said we won the division with the 3rd best record. The SEC championship game and our bowl game happened after we won the division. So what you said is wrong.

and as he said he was not NFL material when GM arrived but a product of coaching by GM and HIS staff

You really don't think there was anyone on Auburn's roster that was worthy of making it to the NFL until Gus came along?

AU lost to Arky and UGA but beat LSU and UF
arky lost to USC(non-conf) and LSU but beat AU
LSU lost to AU and UF but beat Arky

they had the better conf record so despite being skull drug by USC and having the same overall record arky advanced

seriously no. i did expect Mason and Ford to have a good year but not that good and no one saw Greg going especially 2nd overall

The didn't have the same record, Arkansas was 7-1, LSU and Auburn were 6-2.

We played one of the best teams in the country, while others picked up a sunbelt opponent, that is the overall disparity.

They had an offensive lineman drafted second overall Wardamnbulldog.

They also had a 1000 yard RB when the rest of the team was shite. Coates was also only a freshman. That seems like some NFL talent to me.

I think, given time, he will right the ship in Fayetteville. Of course, that may not mean winning the SEC, as that is a more difficult feat at Arkansas than at Alabama, LSU, Florida or some of the other perennial SEC powers.

I think Bret needs to work the JUCO route like Gus has mastered. Was reading an article this morning of how Snyder has been able to compete at a high level with the ton of JUCOs he has brought over. They mentioned how Gus is the same way.

Cam
Fairly
Duke
CAP
Moncrief

Are just a few that already have or will provide a huge boost immediately. I would have went JUCO for a decent QB. Ole Miss did it, Auburn did it twice, we did it, and Coker is a transfer so I mean almost the same difference.

So your belief is that Malzahn waved a magical wand over Robinson, then he became a first round pick? A lot of players come out of nowhere that get drafted high as hell. Some offensive lineman who wasn't even on the radar the previous year (Eric Fisher), nor in a power conference, was selected #1 overall in the 2013 draft. Ziggy Ansah and Eric Fisher from last year, Khalil Mack, Aaron Dobson, Blake Bortles, Eric Ebron, from this year. These dudes were buried under the radar the year prior to their breakout, yet all five were top 15 picks.

It's too bad y'all lost to Georgia, that would've been an epic SECCG.
