1) Who would arkansas get right now that's better? He's fine
2) Why should he be on the hot seat?
3) You're right that fatneck is awful but tech can't afford to fire him and with the roster he has they'd be hard pressed to find someone good to want to come in and waste 2 years with the TO players on the roster. I love it
4) Oh, the whole post was for this. Meh..he's alright. He's not that good, but he's building them up ok.

For what?

0-8
2-6
5-3

His SEC record in his first seasons at Arkansas. Maybe I am looking at it wrong, but each season it looks like improvement at a program that was left in the sewer by Petrino.

Why Brian Kelly? He's 55-24 at Notre Dame. This isn't 1988 anymore. Navigating the college landscape as a major academic, independent isn't easy.

Nick Saban.

Hasn't won a National Title in 9 months... He's slipping.

We demand the best.

Averaging 9-4 at ND?

I don't know why people think he's a good coach.

He has won 55 games in his time there. He has won nearly 71% of his games. That is the highest win pct. since Lou Holtz roamed their side lines.

I just don't get the logic behind Bielema. I feel like I'm in some alternate universe where everyone is seeing something that my eyes just can't see.

Arkansas Coaches Since WW2 ranked by Win Percentage:
*minimum 30 games coached

1. Hatfield (55-17-1)- 76.0%
2. Holtz (60-21-2)- 73.5%
3. Broyles (144-58-5)- 70.8%
4. Petrino (34-17)- 66.7%
5. Nutt (75-46)- 62.0%
6. Mitchell (17-12-1)- 58.3%
7. Barnhill (22-17-3)- 56.0%
8. Bielema (19-20)- 48.7%
9. Ford (26-30-1)- 46.5%

How is it that a coach in Year 4 can be one game below .500, by virtue of barely beating Louisiana Tech at home by a a score of 21-20, and everyone think he's doing some bang up job?

If this were Vanderbilt, I'd agree. Probably even Kentucky.

But Arkansas has always been a program that does not settle for a 50% winning percentage. Yet somehow their fans are content. It's like watching a once competitive program decide they are happy with being irrelevant.

You can point out his "trajectory" all you want. But the fact of the matter is he was just 8-5 last year.... which included a win on a 4th and 25 miracle and another that was in 4 overtimes. He was THAT close to a 5-7 regular season. His winning percentage has also been bolstered by playing an FCS program every single year... something Danny Ford never had the luxury of doing. Danny Ford never once played a 1AA team during his five seasons in Fayetteville. Had he played a "gimme" win every season like Bielema, Bielema would have the lowest winning percentage of every post WW2 coach in Razorback history (who coached more than a season at least).

Especially since the program was in decent shape when he arrived. Petrino had consecutive double digit win years.
