Wtf...how is FSU so far ahead of us on the list, and above Miami...that makes no sense.

As many of you freckle footed cousin kissers love to point out that until HBC Florida didn't have much success compared with many schools on the list, I'm surprised that Florida is this high on the list. I guess it goes to show how dominating Florida has been since 1990.

Could say same thing with lsu since 2000

Rebs might get passed by Clemson and maybe Washington in the coming years.

Vandy has been fairly competitive for the last ten seasons. Not all of them have been winning seasons but you shouldn't sleep on them. They were a Top 15 caliber team in 2012.

It's no surprise that LSU is a better overall program than auburn and florida, tennessee too really. Alot of respect tennessen is given is from way back. LSU is 2nd behind bama honestly. LSU is a top 10 program and had more potential than damn near every team on that list. That's why other teams hate LSU, they know we are a sleeping giant. Nick saban awoke us, les continued the trend as well as he could, and now orgeron will continue the legacy...if he doesnt get it done, we will move on to the next. It's only a matter of time before LSU gets it rolling again and they know it...and they hate it. LOL geaux tigers.

I'm surprised The U is that high. They had one hell of a small run, but other than that..........a whole lot of nothing.

"All-time"

They are one of the few/ original blue bloods still legitimately competing for BCS titles.

I would say there is. 1 national title in 50 years and bunch of conference titles in a shitty SWC says overrated to me.

Kansas State is about where they need to be

KSU has a losing record to Ku (63-41) but what KSU did from 1992-2003 is solid. That's where it's coming from

Florida State at #10 is just asinine. That ranking is based almost entirely on what they did from 1987-2000.

Yeah, I don't love Florida State but you can't deny that they deserve to be up there.

What no bonus points for having our way with your conference over the years?

It's "all time" not last 50 years as well.. you don't have the mental agility to be in this conversation do you?

Who the f is this?

No such school as "Louisiana" even exists.

I think they mean Louisiana-Lafayette (UL-L), alias Southwest Louisiana Junior College at Lafayette.

Impossible!

On a side note, this is just a ranking of poll votes and not actual teams or end of the season success. If this were taken into account, clearly Alabama would be #1 and Michigan would not be in the Top 25 as they have been a afterthought in the past 25 - 50 years.

The only thing they add is being our only private school.

Which protects the SEC from FOIA requests and allows the conference to remain private instead of public. That alone is worth the price of admission but add these things and you have a a valuable member.

No Vanderbilt means no SIAA which means no SEC
No Vanderbilt means no NCAA which means no basketball tournament
No Vanderbilt means much worse academic prestige for conference
No Vanderbilt means no Nashville anchor (imagine Nashville as a ACC or B1G city)

While football at Vanderbilt has been a struggle since WWII (when the GI Bill changed the role of state schools) it should be noted they had at least a dozen conference championships in the era of private schools dominating football like Harvard and Yale. In basketball and now baseball the Dores have shown an ability to hold their own in the ESPN era of sports.

As for replacement, consider your choices…..

quote:

ECU, OU, Cincinnati, or Kansas.

ECU, seriously, are you a short bus rider with this response?
OU, I am OK with but not at the expense of VU
UC, you do realize they are north of the Ohio Ocean right? Are you a yankee lover?
KU, seriously, just stop

quote:

We don't need to expand to 16.

If we did go to 16 adding OU and KU it would be OK with me, but not at the expense of the school who created the SEC and was it first member. Sure signs you have some yankee blood if you do not know or respect the history of the South in a world after the War of Northern Aggression.
