The sec has 4 teams in the top 9. and we play the other 3 this season 2 on the road. LSU really does have an easy schedule this year

Aside from those three games though, and a fairly difficult game at South Carolina, there aren't any games LSU should be tested in.

Honestly, with what you're bringing back, do you think you guys should be ranked preseason top 10?

Well when losing one game could knock you out of the picture then this is a very hard schedule not to mention having to play in the sec championship if we make it.

I'm not an Auburn fan, but I have no problems with them being in the top 10. They do return a ton of people (15 starters) and will have a stout defense as usual. Plus the schedule sets up nicely for them playing LSU, Tennessee, and Georgia at home. They do play WVU on the road, but their toughest SEC road game will be at Alabama.

Great, looks like they're pushing the Oregon schools again.

All bias aside, I cannot see why AU should be in the top 10. No doubt AU has a good team this year, but top 10 worthy?

As long as we don't blow the high preseason ranking again, like in 2003, I'm happy.

No, the Pound Puppies will do that this year.

I blame Ted Turner for this madness.

"Pound Puppies," I love it.

Seriously, though, Auburn is one of the harder-to-predict teams in the preseason (as is LSU, for that matter), in relative terms. Why? Tony Franklin.

Tuberville was always one of the greatest coaches in the nation (if not the very best) at finding ways to win without actually scoring many points on offense (it's not such an easy thing to do).

Franklin coached Lorenzen, Couch, and Bonner, at Kentucky, and made them into a competitive team even when their defense blew big time. So you have to admit, Franklin has the potential to eventually push Auburn into the national elite, since offense was always the missing ingredient for Tuberville's Tigers.

Really, I'm surprised Franklin is not getting more attention right now.
