No matter how it is spun, it's a mess... The media will be forced to act on it. And yes, I think JFF is guilty as can be. But that doesn't matter

It all hinges on what the NCAA can actually prove.

Scrooster, you seem mad. Why don't you have a seat and tell us your problems?

So everyone is clear here, there isn't a rule against signing an autograph, there isn't a rule against signing an autograph to a guy that going to turn around and sell the autograph. There is a rule against soliciting and accepting large sums of cash for your signature. That is what Johnny Hancock is accused of

Not true.

quote:

Title:12.5.2.1 - Advertisements and Promotions After Becoming a Student-Athlete.

After becoming a student-athlete, an individual shall not be eligible for participation in intercollegiate athletics if the individual:

(a) Accepts any remuneration for or permits the use of his or her name or picture to advertise, recommend or promote directly the sale or use of a commercial product or service of any kind; or

(b) Receives remuneration for endorsing a commercial product or service through the individual's use of such product or service.

If you're signing 100's of items for a broker who you know is going to sell your autograph, there's no doubt you're violating the bolded part above.

That rule is so players aren't in commercials or endorsing products.

Autographs aren't a commercial product and they damn sure aren't a service

Clowney and Manziel are two of the 'superstars' of the SEC this year. Nothing is going to stick to those two.

Now, if is was the 2nd team center of Miss State or such, there would be hell to pay.

He would be under investigation if USC played Bama this year.
