This crap has been going on for a long time. It's selective enforcement if they turn their guns to Manziel.
If they want to make an example of him, then they should give him a 3 game suspension deal and be done with it.

Herbie said next to the "coaches" who run the 7 on 7 camps in the summer, these brokers are the biggest snakes in the grass when it comes to giving college football players extra benefits.Said it's BEEN known in CFB that this has been going on for yrs now. It'd be interesting to see the IRS step in & audit their tax returns; paying this amount of cash has to be reflected somewhere in their returns as business expenses.

a high profile player with proof of the allegations is a good time to make a statement.

Exciting season! Everyone plays!
Nope.
What I find most hilarious is the "justice for johnny" theme though.

If you and all of the Aggie nation want these guys to play, then why the hell are you trying to bring them all down? Do you really want a boring arse season without Clowney, etc.? I sure as hell don't want to watch a pussy season of backups at every position. I get that you're worried about your JFF, I want to see him play too. But don't mess with the season for the rest of us.
Because the NCAA and ESPN are going all out to prove that Manziel signed hundreds of items for brokers and in exchange was paid. The primary red flag was that it wasn't just 5-10 items, but that there were dozens of authenticated items that were authenticated in sequential order. This is the primary theory why they believe Manziel sat down for a "session for money". They also have "pictures and videos" of Manziel signing the memorabilia, which is how these brokers prove that they are real when they authenticate the items. These brokers didn't just choose only take photographic pictures of Manziel. It is an industry standard way of proving the picture were real and the do it every time they have something signed.
What the NCAA and ESPN didn't realize is that while they were 100% focused on Manziel (since he is by far the biggest name in CFB right now), that they were overlooking a handful of other players that have the exact same evidence: Braxton Miller, Clowney, and Marqis Lee.
Joe Schad chased down these brokers and requested pic/videos of Manziel. What he didn't request were the pics/video of the other players. Those pics absolutely exist.
Would the NCAA manke Manziel ineligible...probably.
Would the make Manziel, Miller, Clowney, & Lee ineligible....absolutely not. The backlash would be too massive.
Manziel getting paid is something that NCCA would expose, a bunch of elite player across the country doing the same thing is a pandoras box that the NCAA won't touch.

It's "selective enforcement" that someone admits to paying Manziel money for his autograph but doesn't say shite about others?

Longest consecutive streak of authentication (indicating they were submitted to the authenticator in bulk):
JOHNNY MANZIEL - 50
JADEVEON CLOWNEY - 98
Again, this DOESN'T prove that Clowney took money.

this is a circus, fun, thrilling, entertaining - but at the end of the day we all go home and none the better.

any proof of this, or are you speculating? if the latter, you should qualify your statement.

I hope they all go down. Scumbags.

Probable. But I haven't seen them yet. So therefore, they do not exist.

tn not involved no one wants our shitty autographs!
but seriously, i dont care if it was any tn player, jff, clowney or whoever.. yes it would suck to lose those guys for the season but they broke the rules "if they did" they should pay the price. Im tired of hearing players paid, steroids used, and anything else that involves special benefits or cheating! Get caught, you pay.

There was no "admission" by Manziel that we know the NCAA knows until Schad's column. And that wasnt an outright admission. Is espn looking into Clowney and Lee?
Has the NCAA questioned the brokers about them?
I don't know. Just seems like this is going on a lot and its unfair to target Manziel if not.

It seems to me that if Clowney wanted to take money from anywhere under the table he would have already profited from his Jay-Z connection. What that guy can offer JD monetarily must seriously outweigh what he'd receive from this autograph scandal.

The IRS will care if players are accepting $100k and not paying tax on it.
That part will just take much longer because our government is slow and inept 99% of the time.

Taking money from an agent is probably #1 or 2 violation of NCAA rules. The risk is very, very high of getting caught. In fact, Clowney was already investigated in the JayZ case.
My feeling is that taking money under the table from sleezeball autograph brokers is something that has been going on with the premier CFB players for a long time. Very little risk of getting caught.

According to tater fans, JD Clowney couldn't spell his own name TO sign autographs.
We in the clear!!

Who is everybody? I see no link. Again, link
Everyone is USAToday, ESPN, SI, and Yahoo as linked below. I can link about 100 more if you;re too lazy to look up yourself.
Every one of these articles cites Manziel violating bylaw 15.5.2.1, so I would say it pertains to autographs, not just advertising as you said.
