I don't know why South Carolina fans are so defensive about Clowney mailing it in this year. You'd think that they would be the most upset.

I'm thinking it'll end up 4.54 official, which is still amazing at 6'5" 266lbs

meh, people that say that kind of stuff didn't watch his games. The scouts already broke down his film to show how often he was double/triple teamed and all that good stuff. Can you tell me about the 1 team this year that didn't game plan at all to face Clowney?

True but not a 4.4 like he said he was going to run nor so out of wack with what some TEs run annually.

Clowney was pretty consistent too, 4.47 and a 4.48.

Also, his 10 yard split was faster than Manziel's and on par with Thomas from Oregon.

I watched every snap this year and I have been critical of our players in the past (Garcia for example). But I honestly don't feel like he mailed it in. The media covered him so relentlessly, unlike any defensive player ever. He had a very good year.

I understand what you are saying, but he isn't the first player to have gameplans made around them, and the best of those still did well.

Herschel Walker, Bo Jackson, Marcus Lattimore leap immediately to my mind. They STILL put up huge numbers. However, it's a bit easier to put up big numbers at Running Back, too.

He'll go high in the draft and have a very good career. I'd like it if he somehow fell to the Falcons.

Keep in mind Braxton miller "only" runs a 4.47.

This is what was so impressive. His 10 yd split was just absurd.

I thought the first game of the year on primetime where he looked out of shape basically did it for him this year, fairly or not. He was sucking wind in like the 2nd quarter and being subbed out.

By year end, he was playing many more of the snaps, and teams were absolutely running plays away from him

Those are all offensive people. D ends and corner backs are much easier to isolate.

That's weird, I figured Spurrier would have seen some games this year
