I suppose it's possible that Chucky Mullins could have been racist, probably not tho.

Yes I was only jabbing with the Kiefer thing.

Brad Gaines can be.

First he cripples a star QB at Ole Miss, then he profits.

Shrewd Vandy alum

Looks like Arkie has our diabolical plan figured out as well and is capitalizing with "Greater". Not sure if it's about playing football or learning to thrive with obesity like Bert has mastered. Must be an Arkansas thing. Btw, is the Arkie walk on that kid that wore the black framed glasses on the Oline I believe? He kicked our arses a good bit if it was.

STORYLINE: (Based on a true story) "After a brutal collision between University of Mississippi's star QB CHUCKY MULLINS and Vanderbilt Linebacker BRAD GAINES - Mullins is left on the playing field with four broken vertebrae. The player who sacked him, BRAD GAINES, desperately needs to reach out to Chucky — and in spite of what happened, the two young men become fast friends, and support each other emotionally until the hour of Chucky's death..."
Chucky was Safety and Brad Gaines was a tight end.

Chucky was a safety

You'd be surprised how often Hollywood changes things in Based on True Story movies in order to make the movie more appealing. Chucky being a star quarterback makes for a better movie.

Grew up playing ball with my kid brother, never met a nicer guy or a better kid who had every reason not to be.

I am well aware that they embellish at times to make for better stories. Changing the fundamental element of how the injury occurred will be a huge mistake and I would probably have no interest in watching it. I already saw the documentary on it so I'll stick with that if they change up that much. Let me know.....

Like a fat, poor, stupid, racist version of Brian's Song. Will not watch

99% of the time your posts are rather amusing. But in a Chucky Mullins post, just let something go. That whole episode was just heartbreaking.

This movie and the Brandon Burlsworth movie will be interesting. I'll want to see how both stories are portrayed.

Great story. Was watching TBS when it actually happened. However, making this a movie makes as much sense as Woodlawn did.
It's interesting to us in the southeast but people in other parts of the country never heard of chucky or brad Gaines.
The SEC network should make this a movie though.

I feel bad for Chucky that the "Never Quit" sign looks so terrible. Incorrect capitalization and then some shitty script font for his name. They really owed him something better than that.

His jersey is retired. And he has a road named after him. It's not like that is the only thing.

Anyway I could view a pic of this sign? I don't think I've ever seen it.
