Leak didn't have the fame Tebow had but he is a well known player. Esp in the SEC East because he started for 4 years.

Am I the only one who thought this thread was about the old Vandy coach?
Sorry Mizzou, your James Franklin is only 2nd most known James Franklin in the division... And he coaches at PSU now.

The national media hardly knows who either of these guys are. Of course hardcore sec fans know, but not the national sports media

I don't think this was going as he expected.

No. That's exactly who I thought of when I saw the thread title.

They're both black guys named JF who competed in the East and owned Tennessee
I understand the confusion

When does any SEC fan ever discuss this?
Leak had a pretty good college career considering he played 2 years under Zook and another 2 in the wrong offense.

Leak and Franklin are known in SEC circles. But the national sports media forgets them

So really 4 years in the wrong offense.

Why in the world would anyone outside the fans of the team they played for give a crap about either one of them?

News articles about Tebow and Mauk are the real culprits, and that media helps sway opinions

Too often we see threads started by Missouri fans.
Everyone recognizes Leaks talent.
The other guy is very forgettable like you said.

Of course JF isn't as famous as Manziel. JF was an average QB.
But they are both overshadowed by their successors, and they shouldn't be

Not necessarily.
I remember Florida having a pro offense under Zook and those being Leak's most productive years. Maybe I'm wrong.
