Exactly. Ignorance reigns supreme on the SEC rant.

It makes sense that he would leave. It would have been his first season playing without Pearl's guys, and we likely would have been a bottom 5 or 6 team in the league.

I get it. We value different things. You like player discipline and being the worst team in the SEC. I like ***** recruits and national relevance.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on Cuonzo and State.

Two entirely different situations. You're the one that brought my relevance to the argument in question cause of Stansbury. I'm sorry I didn't bow down to him like a God like the majority of our fan base. I had expectations that he miserably failed to meet, then left our program in a clusterfrick that we are trying to crawl out of. The only way to do that is with discipline and consistency. Here at MSU we keep coaches who underperform.(sarcasm)

Cuonzo didn't exactly inherit a beautiful situation at Tennessee.

Let's not get it confused, the clusterfrick was because the school fired Stansbury and hired a nobody. Rodney Hood would have been a nice piece these last two years, no?

He inherited Maymon, McRae, and Golden, and lucked into Stokes. Not a bad situation, really.

I don't think Martin deserved the kind of hate he's gotten over the past year, but UT will be fine without him.

He inherited...

Jordan McRae SG - Consensus top 50 player in the class of 2010

Trae Golden PG - Consensus top 100 player in the class of 2010

Jeronne Maymon PF - Consensus top 50 player in the class of 2009

Renaldo Woolridge SF - Consensus top 100 player in the class of 2008

Kenny Hall PF - Consensus top 100 player in the class of 2009

Cam Tatum SG - Consensus top 100 player in the class of 2007

And consensus ***** Jarnell Stokes, who was signed, sealed, and delivered by Bruce Pearl and Steve Forbes.

He literally inherited a roster full of 4 and 5 star players. The NCAA situation was dire, but let's not act like he stepped into a barren wasteland.

I will admit I was hoping for a much better hire. You get what you get though. Saying that, I have liked everything I'm seeing out of Rick Ray.

Despite what a lot of idiots like to proclaim, he nearly left in January because of how undisciplined his teammates were. He didn't wanna be apart of that. Stans talked him out of it. I believe Rodney was gone regardless of who was hired.

It was a clusterfrick because of how undisciplined players were. We were losing Arnett Moultrie, Dee Bost, Renardo Sidney, and Brian Bryant already. Deville Smith the future starting PG left. Then Hood left. That's the starting 5 and one backup. By summer, two potential starters Kristers Zeidaks and Shaun Smith are kicked off for their 3rd violation of team rules since Ray got there. Before the season starts, two freshman go down with ACL tears in practice. Later on we lost both starters Jalen Steele and Wendell Lewis to season ending injuries. Both are gone because they couldn't stop smoking. The only player left on the roster from Stansbury teams is Roquez Johnson. That's two years removed from his last season and only one player remains. That's a clusterfrick.

It's still way early in this search but right now I think Howland is the best realistic name

Just speculating, I think it'll come down to Marshall and Howland and Idk enough about Marshall to say which one id want but I wouldn't be shocked if Marshall turned it down so wouldn't matter then

I'd hire Manhatten's coach whether he has a degree or not. The game against Louisville was a very good brand of basketball.

He had a pretty solid year last year. Led UCLA to a Pac 12 title. 1st round pick. Has struggled with the TWolves, but he was a pretty solid get.

Lol, What?

Cal and Kentucky dodged a bullet with him.

He passed up shots because he was pouting or pissed at his team mates. Howland let him become a major cancer in the locker room…it cost him the gig in LA.

Oh, what happen to the player Howland brought in that ate himself on the bench?

UT should just hire Howland. He could be successful in the SEC IF he can get good talent to Knoxville.
