The talent on offense goes beyond Cameron Newton. People who say differently give a great deal of disrespect to guys like Darvin Adams, Terrel Zachary, and Emory Blake, the first two of those had huge years last year with Chris freaking Todd.

Not against the best defenses in the SEC they didn't. Which was the entire point I was making.

Guys like Michael Dyer and Onterio McCalleb and Mario Fannin are all fine RBs and you are completely deluding yourself if you don't think this offense would still be top notch without Newton.

I guess I am deluding myself then, because I don't see it as top notch one bit without Newton if you have a defense they plays honest and aggressive, as we proved last year and held you to your season low and 200 yards lower than your average.

You are incorrect memphis. Do you remember the Alabama defense of last year? The #1 defense in the entire country? We scored more points and had more yards against that defense than any other team all year long.

I firmly believe that Alabama team was caught looking ahead. If they played you like they played FL. Then you get blown out of your own stadium.

I don't think they even gave us their best game. They were a different animal when they took the field against FL.

How convenient for your argument.

Yeah, they were probably at their best against Tennessee, too.

Ross,

You are waisting your time. Memphis hates Auburn more than just about anyone else on this board. Your rationale doesn't mean anything to him and he's probably not even reading what you are typing.

Ms State has beaten ONE top 25 team in Florida. That's it. Surly the criteria for coach of the year has to be more than that?

Claim: Auburn's offense without Newton cannot get it done against top defenses.

Rebuttal: With Chris Todd, they played the #1 defense in the country and got it done moreso than any other team all year.

Defense: They didn't try.

At that point I can't say anything past "uh huh".

Oh I am reading it just not seeing any rational involved. He is looking at numbers not results.

Are numbers not indicative of results?

You can't really call me out for not being rational, you presented an argument, I countered it, and your defense of said argument was pretty weak.

You mean offense, and that is exactly correct.

Tennessee disagrees

Caught looking ahead, doesn't = not trying. Now try again

OK Memphis,

Who should be SEC coach of the year? Give us your choice so we can shoot holes in it for you and tell you why it's bullshite.

Lets hope Cam goes out with a Broken leg so we can see just how good the other "star" players are on the AU team.

Name one person on LSU's team that if they were not on it they would lose 4-6 games like you can for Newton.

Obviously I meant offense, and I'm pretty sure that's been debunked.

Let me ask you something, if Alabama doesn't count, what about Tennessee?

Tennessee disagrees

10 points is less than 21 points.

Oh, sorry.

I know it's poor form to declare victory in an argument, but I'm declaring victory in this argument.

You better be careful Ross, you will be slammed with another Cameron Newton and 200K flame.

Not at all.

Take a look at Chavis's defenses at LSU Last year and while he was at UT.

Teams would rack up so many yards on his defenses. It is bend but don't break. All those yards and they would still lose. Alabama used to put up close to 400 on his defenses.

Your numbers are also skewed by your fast paced offense. You get about 80 plays a game correct? Hurry up offense means you are able to manage the clock in a manner that allow you to inflate numbers.

Now that is a spin job if I've ever seen one.

Our offense is discredited because it runs more plays?

Let me ask a question, why does that matter? Of course it will generate more yards and more points, but in the end, isn't that one of the inherent goals of the no huddle offense, the other obviously being to wear down the defense faster and keep them confused? If it gets us down the field faster, more often, and scores more points, why is that a reason to down the offense?

ETA: We actually don't run 80 plays a game very often though. That's the goal, but frequently we'll hit just under 70.
