Great interview with Sir Charles and The Coach. Barkley is one of the funniest individuals on the planet. Saying he would build a statue of Saban at his home if Coach would fix his golf swing was classic.

I really enjoyed that interview... Saban really isn't a bad guy, he just wants to win and will do whatever it takes to do so... I cant fault him for that!

Why does every good player that comes out of Auburn have to be a thug or a racist? Charles is lucky. He's both.

“All politics is rich people screwing poor people. Poor people are too stupid to know they’re just chess pieces in a game. All the poor white people, all the poor black people, all the Hispanics, they’re in the same boat. They’ve got no economic opportunities. They spend all their time blaming each other because rich people throw words at them like illegal immigration and racism and things like that. If poor people ever get smart, and realize: ‘We should band together, rise up, instead of fighting each other,’ we probably can make a difference.

This really set off Barkley, who bemoaned that black people will never do well because of all the “crap in your life from other black people.”

He said there’s a disturbing culture in the black community of someone being not black enough or acting too much like white people when they go to school or sound educated:

“There are a lot of black people who are unintelligent, who don’t have success––it’s best to knock a successful black person down ’cause they’re intelligent, they speak well, they do well in school, and they’re successful.”

quote:

“The true story came out from the grand jury testimony,” Barkley said, indicating that he believes Wilson’s version of the events and that the shooting was ultimately justified. “We have to be really careful with the cops man, because if it wasn’t for the cops we would be living in the Wild, Wild West in our neighborhoods,” he continued. “We can’t pick out certain incidentals that don’t go our way and act like the cops are all bad.”

“Do you know how bad some of these neighborhoods would be if it wasn’t for the cops?” Barkley asked.

“I can’t believe anything I hear on television anymore,” Barkley said later. “That’s why I don’t like talking about race issues with the media, because they love this stuff.”

“They don’t jump to conclusions when black people kill each other,” he added. Echoing some prominent conservative pundits, Barkley noted that the media doesn’t go “crazy” over the “epidemic” of black-on-black crime.

“There is no excuse for those people to be out there burning down people’s businesses, burning up police cars,” Barkley concluded. “That serves no purpose whatsoever.”

I have a world of respect - AND like - for CB (just like I do Bo)

Three of my favorite athletes growing up were Barkley, Bo, and Frank Thomas. AU has had a lot of great athletes.

Love Barkley I wish 'Bama gave him money and strippers when he was coming out of high school. would love to have him rep University of Alabama like he does Auburn.

They could have gotten Barkley far a $500 Bama Bino's pizza gift certificate.

Thug or racist are not two words I would use to describe Barkley. Opinionated and a part time arsehole maybe, but that puts him up there with 95% of this board.

If he's a racist how do you explain his blonde hair blue eyed wife

For some reason I always like to see Saban smile and act like a normal person. I just want to believe he's not a robot.
