Charles looked to be fairly emotional when he thanked coach for giving young black men a second chance. Seemed like something dear to his heart.

Love Barkley

I wish 'Bama gave him money and strippers when he was coming out of high school. would love to have him rep University of Alabama like he does Auburn.

Chuck has transcended basketball. He is the keeper of the flame when it comes to "keeping it real" in terms of celebrities. Not many guys have his courage to call it like he sees it and 90% of the time, he is spot-on.

Freakin' love Charles Barkley. Glad he wears the O&B.

Why does every good player that comes out of Auburn have to be a thug or a racist? Charles is lucky. He's both.

Thug yeah, racist? Doubt it. He does absolutely butcher the English language. Would love to see a Charles Barkley vs Quan Bray spelling bee.

One thing is a bit racist here...

Thug? I don't know. He did throw a guy through a window 20 years ago, but he didn't start the fight. and he used to have a thing for booze and hookers but as far as I know he paid for both with his own money. None of those things really rise very high on the thug meter to me.

Racist? Really? Unless I missed something pretty big IMO he's pretty solidly grounded when it comes to racial issues.

Anyhow, it looks like it was a longer conversation that is going to be released as a series of shorts. This one was pretty good. I'm looking forward to the rest.

Exactly, he has criticized the BLM many times and taken some heat for it.

Why racist? Because he said Auburn has a plantation mentality? I've never thought of Chuck as a racist.

Why thug? Is it because he is a black man that was arrested so he's automatically a thug? Why is it so easy for old white guys who sit behind a computer to throw that term around?

I really like Barkly despite his poor college choice. This is a great and funny interview. Coach Saban to Barkley on playing lots of pick up basketball, and other things (paraphrase):

"I get to pick the teams..."

"I get to pick who guards me..."

I get to pick my position which is point guard. When Avery was hired, I know he played PG in the NBA for 13 years, but I told him he had to play a different position because I am the point guard..."

"If someone gives me a hard foul.. well... most of them work for me so they might get fired..."

"No that is not what happened to Kirby Smart, he was always on my team because he could shoot..."

"I get to pick the referees that officiate LSU games..."

"I get to review the schedules of all the SEC teams before the league approves..."

"I get to pick which recruits in the country I want and then they sorta have to make a decision to come play for me..."

"I "help" the NCAA rule committee frequently..."

"We are not going to be good this year, will be lucky to win 7 games."

Coach Saban is always an honest man...
