It's pretty clear quality wins is their highest consideration.

H2H is an after thought as a last resort if they run out ofreference points to differentiate.

I agree with that. It's like the transitive property which is pretty useless.

I also hope Long misspoke when he said TCU had the bigger road win this past weekend. TCU was at home.

And either way it won't matter after Saturday. In fact, that top four might be completely replaced by Thanksgiving.

Well TCU did beat a top 10 team. We beat a top 16 team. There win was more impressive from a margin of victory. So IMO they did have a better overall win last Sat.

Would take Oregon losing to Colorado for that to happen.

I think if Bama beats State this weekend they jump to no. 1, maaaaybe no.2 if FSU gets the bump back to 1 after beating Miami (depending on how the committee views Miami). Bama will have the best win and "best loss" of the 1-loss teams.

Anyone that thought 2 SEC teams were going to make it was crazy. The first week just didn't people on the committee time enough to exercise their regional biases.

Wrong. If Bama barely edges out Mississippi State, and both win their rivalry games the next week, both will be in the top 4 going into conference championship weekend.

Alabama is being held out to see if they can beat MSU. Win and they will skyrocket up the list, lose and it doesn't matter. That's all there is to it.

Sure it matters. You have alot to live for. Maybe not a playoff spot but there's always basketball.

Like I keep trying to tell all of you: only 1 SEC team is getting in.

If MSU loses, they drop to 5 or lower. That's how this works.

I like that quality wins are considered more than just completely lining up teams by number of losses regardless of schedules.

I agree with what you say about Miss St still having perhaps the strongest resume of any team even with a close loss at Alabama.

It would be very interesting to see since you have to imagine Alabama would jump TCU based on beating the #1 team when they're already seemingly a toss up for the committee.

So, both Alabama and Miss St would already be in the top 4 with really no team behind them with as tough of a closeout schedule in Alabama's case or quality win in Miss St's?

(Aside from maybe Ariz St but that would knock Oregon out)

If both won out from there, it would be hard to justify dropping either.

Wow! Bama still at #5. Glad to see that because I think it'll give Bama a little extra pep in their step this weekend.

They didn't need the refs to bail them out numerous times either

TCU, Oregon, Arizona st, Florida St, Miss St, Alabama

All in if they win out. Baylor has a chance to make a statement last week of the season, which should help them tremendously. I don't think it'll be enough though.

I think the committee hopes it plays like this...

UA wins this week ... MSU falls to 6 , OSU , who jumped 4 spots , jumps another 3 to 5.

OREGON now sits at 1, FSU at 2, TCU at 3, UA at 4.

All continue to win out , Conf champ games are over...

12-1 Oregon stays at 1
13-0 FSU stays at 2
12-1 UA rises to 3
12-1 OSU rises to 4
11-1 TCU left out , B12 realizes they need 12 and CCG

OREGON- OSU. in Rose
FSU-UA in Sugar.

And CFP and ESPN are loving it.

This is their ideal situation, However, I think ASU, UGA, AU, UM, UF, and N are getting ready to cause havock. And there are going to be a lot of 2 loss teams looking around come Dec 7.
