Our methodology places significant value on NFL starts (1 point per) because a pipeline of starters by position is the very definition of 'Position U.' Bonus points are provided for Pro Bowls nods at their main position (2 points per appearance), draft selections (2 points per) and first-round picks (3 points per).

I still think it's a stupid system for evaluation. So a Pro-Bowl is the same as being a 7th round draft pick? And being a 7th round draft pick is only slighty worse than being a 1st round draft pick?

Also, after a certain point, should the school really get credit for a player still being in the league? I mean Chris Clemons with 85 starts for Georgia (aka DLU) had 3 starts in his first 5 years in the league (and with his 1st 3 teams).

Shouldn't some of that credit go to coaches with Washington, Philly, and Oakland, and more importantly Seattle? I mean why does Georgia get the credit for the progress Clemons made in the NFL?

I'd think a sliding scale of weighing starts linked to time away from the university would be a better barometer of how well a college puts "starters" into the NFL.

Yes, and we should ... that is exactly correct.

No ACC fans should be participating in this thread out of sheer embarrassment for their conference.

Not to mention Chris Culliver and Stephon Gilmore....they all opened an institution of higher learning, when it came to arse-schooling Clemson...

These rankings are just retarded. You want to say who DBU is based on the past 10 years, yet you include players who did not even attend college this century? How about rerun those numbers based on only players who were actually on the college teams' rosters during the last 10 years instead.

I'm not surprised by USC being no.2. I'm pretty sure every DB drafted from usc has played for the Texans at one point.

. UF "has been much better recently" most likely because their previous HC was Muschamp himself. I can't see how that bodes well for UF in the immediate future now that Muschamp is at USC. I mean, who the frick is UF's DC now, anyways?

He's the guy that held South Carolina to by far their lowest offensive output all year.

Seriously, 201 yards (2nd lowest was 258)

Arbitrary much?

Why not just limit the qualifiers to over 6' tall, weighing 200 pds or less, and those that run a legit laser timed 4.6 or faster ... with green eyes.

See how that works?

Bottom line is that there are several really strong programs in the league when it comes to DBs in the NFL and we can, and should, all be proud of that.

I'll be glad when SC can argue LBU or OLU or DEU ... oh, errr, wait, defensive ends. Come to think of it SC is DE U. TE U too huh?

Dang - we're gettin' there. But I wanna be WR U and RB U and I wanna us to be all of them dangit!

South Carolina has had better ranked passing defenses than LSU has had in 7 of the last 9 seasons. Yes, that does include USC's last 2 seasons with bottom of the SEC defenses.....

We can legit make a case for DEU and TEU. The same arguments people would use for them being DBU could be applied to us favorably for DEU, Thanks Clowney and Ingram and Abraham! We also put A LOT of TE's in the NFL. Adams will be drafted this year. That will mean: Adams, Busta, Cunningham, Saunders, Cook all made it to the NFL since 2009. That's got to be elite nationally. I don't know of any other colleges that put 5 TE's in the NFL in 8 years.
