I'd rather listen to a lot of the play by play guys than Gary.
Gary doesn't do play by play

Tessitore, Nessler, etc.
Nessler is a play by play guy, not a color commentator like Danielson

We know he knows the game of football.
What sucks is that he ruins it when he lets his excitement for one team take over.
So he could be better - if he combined his knowledge with unbiased professionalism.

Oh really? I saw Derek Henry fumble a ball while running and the ball was getting kicked around for 5 seconds before Henry was tackled and Gary (after showing 5 different camera angles) said "you just can't see if the ball was out when his knee went down.
Henry ran for 10 yards after the ball was knocked out of his hands. Dude may have been good once but he's losing his marbles. Probably due to being in the booth with Verne

I also have noticed that coaches clearly trust him, feel comfortable talking to him about things
He almost always references the things that he has seen a team working on in practice that week, after the play unfolds in a game
No coach is letting some yokel watch and commentate on their practices

It was either last week or the A&M/UCLA game when he was commenting on how the scripted plays was going to play out and why they decided to script certain stuff early to open other things later.

I don't care. I'd rather listen to play by play than color commentary. And nothing worse than Gary trying to predict where plays are going.
Like Bobby knight trying to predict free throws based on their shooting form. Half the time they are wrong and its fricking annoying
