You don't think a strong conference helps get 1 loss teams in our conference into a mNC? Or that it won't help when it comes time for the Committee to decide playoff teams?

Well a strong conference does help the bottom line of all the schools. LSU, Bama, Auburn, UF etc winning means the conference will all be extremely rich when the conference passes out the checks at the end of the year. Filthy rich

Not a chance...it should be used sparingly though. For example, should Mizzou beat okielight, I can't imagine anything that would irritate those douchenozzles more than the SEC chant.

Play during the season certainly will go further in determining where you play in the post season.

Without conference strength though you're essentially Louisville (11-1 and with one loss from a BCS Bowl to the Russell Athletic Bowl).

If nothing else, it is totally worth it for the amount of butthurt it induces in the fans of teams in other conferences.
And, you know, it sort of gives me something to vicariously enjoy this bowl season.
