I love how Auburn fans celebrate 1993 as if they actually won something.

The problem years would be when the polls declared the winners before the bowl games were actually played.

A problem with this is that early bowl games were usually described as "exhibition" games and weren't even tabulated with a team's won/loss records in most publications of that era. By the 1950s and '60s, pretty much everyone began counting it as a "real" game (and earlier bowl games have been retroactively counted as "real" games as well). Heck, the NCAA itself didn't even start combining stats from bowl games with the regular season stats until 2002.

The FWAA should be included because they started in 54 and always waited until after the bowls.

I think at this point we have answered the OP's question, and it's not really a surprise that the answer is "no - we can't agree".

AP to BCS to CFP works for me. That puts us #3 at worst.

I think the number of championships is reflective of the programs in the SEC since integration. Alabama stands alone, Florida and LSU make up the next tier, then Tennessee and auburn, then the rest.

So then y'all can't talk about your 1935 basketball title anymore, right?

Sure, I'd agree with those parameters. It's impressive enough for UA. But just for the record, this is why everyone laughs at the others claimed by UA, the ones that aren't in these parameters aren't legitimate.

They aren't even the worst offenders in the SEC.

In his defense, he did say no champions as determined by "voting" procedures. Didn't LSU actually have to play a game for that title?

I'm cool with this system. But an exception be made for 1990. There was no way Colorado should've been voted #1 in the AP over Georgia Tech.
